A lot of people have been angry at the development and success of GEJ and the Nigerian Army over the boko boys, a carefull look and analysis of the whole Boko saga makes it quite easy for any one to understand.

First, He is a civilian government and president which implies that violent retaliation must be the last resort. GEJ exercised long patience to those demons but to no avail.

3. when the Military started airstrike, the Northern leaders ran to USA and cried to amnesty international that GEJ was committing Genocide.

4. It was very much obvious that the Nigerian Armed forces was compromised, hence there were lots of sabotaged efforts and speculations that high ranking officers of the military, connived with the boko boys,

5. must of the millitary hardware were outdated and they need to be replaced, previous government prided themselves that we had the best ground combatant without weapons for them to show their bravery.

6. the USA refused to sell weapon to our beloved FG. they blocked the arms deal FG tried to acquire from the backdoor and made it a scandal.

7. The USA stopped their allied countries from selling arms to FG.

8. Next we had to go to our friends Enemies, i.e Russia.

9. they willingly sold arms , ammunition, etc with the approved one billion dollar loan,

10. GEJ and OUR GALLANT Soldier Boys decapacitated the Boko boys.

OP ...I most say, thank you for answering this question, lots of Nigerians have been asking these same question.

But as a Nigerian, am highly disappointed with Jonathan's linency to the handling of Boko Haram.
I understand the fact, that the Northern were sympathetic to their plight, for political and religious reasons, only to see a monster at the end of the day.
The defence budget cannot be compared to Boko Haram's finance, can we as well say that they are now better trained, than Nigerian soldiers?
Corruption, mismanagement, looting, stealing and negligence kills faster than anything in any organisation.
