I just wanted to find out if anyone else has noticed the uncommon silence both by foreign and some local media? I mean come on... when Jordan and the coalition were striking ISIL there was a lot of news and follow up on their efforts. While the reverse seems to be the case when it comes to Nigeria's fight against Boko Haram... there's that cricket sound that comes with the night. No Aisha Sesay to tell us how good we are working... no Arwa Damon to interview the IDP as they gradually return back to normal life. Remember the Chibok Saga?! well these guys covered it extensively even when there were rumours of freeing the girls... so where are the reporters that could report under fire? I open the floor to you guys. Do you feel that there has been a media blackout on the multinational Joint Task Force's efforts against the insurgents?

Really I don't get it....seems it's only going on in our heads...or is it that they love bad news so much that good news scares them?

They never wanted any good news from here.. Left to me, it is high time the broadcasts from these agencies are monitored and regulated since our people are starting to see them as some kind of "impeccable sources", when it is very obvious they have ulterior motives.

Boss, Both APC and the international media are looking for bad news just to discredit this administration. They have been using it for cheap political gains but #Neveragain

A Jordanian pilot was murdered and the nation rallied round the family. Camerounians had a troop support rally while in Nigerians accuse their Government....

It is about time Nigeria builds a world class media house like Aljazeera by Qatar or Press Tv by Iran.... We badly need to tell our own stories..

With due respect sir. Please don't politicize this issue, let me make a point here
1. if A.P.C is sponsoring boko haram, then the federal government have fail us by not banning them
2. If Buhari is boko haram then the federal government have fail us by providing a terrorist with police escort
3. If Buhari want to islamize Nigeria then our government have fail by not taking him to court to defend the constitution

Sparrow13. Some very intelligent points you have made there. Meanwhile, my thought on the initial issue raised is that overtime, due to the poor handling of the Boko Haram issue by the Nigeria Army - as seen in attempts at mutiny, leaked operational plans & actual fleeing from the battleground - the military has lost credibility in the sight of the international media. It'll take more than few successes against the insurgents to change this perception.

Maybe it's a case of under reporting... seriously when the Malian insurgents were being routed the world had video and reporters on location....

I agree sir, however wouldn't it be better to report now with embedded journalists?

Another point NTA and AIT have fail us in this propaganda war, all they are after is fat paying blackmail advert by politicians, another thing we as Nigerians should know that the military does not belong to a political party so we need yo stop politicizing their success or defeat(GOD/ALLAH FORBID)

Yea, probably, they don't feel secured performing along side sabotaged military or things are turning against their wish of seeing Nigeria break up

One thing i do know is dat, one way or the other, West has tried to put Nigeria in such situation as in Ukraine and others but Nigerians annoy them most by not picking up arms. Nobody wan die for Naija, we value our lives die(xcluding doz muda4uckers up North)

I feel it is time we take our destiny into our hands and tell our story by ourselves. What we enjoy from abroad is no love, but affectation.
