This weekend, Nigerian opposition knuckleheads, ever so eager to discredit, floated photographs of what were supposedly South African mercenaries riding in REVA MRAPs.

While the controversy raged on in Nigerian cyberspace, a respected aficionado of South African extraction went to town on his own volition and after exhaustive enquiries, wrote to confirm the fact that the contentious photograph was photoshopped. The photos were certainly not shot in Nigeria.

So take those photographs circulating in cyberspace to be another bad example of how far the desperadoes in Nigeria’s political opposition will go to discredit the military and the FG which controls it. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Beegs

Just saw the Linda Ikeji post and the ensuing discussion on your site. For what it’s worth, those pics were taken in Guinea Equatorial:

1) The rear view of Vehicle 2C shows an EG flag and the signpost is in Spanish;

2) The Oando reference of your correspondents doesn’t hold up – the company operates throughout West Africa; and

3) More important, that’s the MKIII version, which EG acquired in 2013. As for Nigeria, they operate the latest MK V version of which you posted an ambulance variant the other day

END

I am also pleased to inform you, gentlemen, that pursuant to the unprecedented build-up of assets which the Nigerian Army are undergoing, we are now operators of the latest REVA Mk.5 MRAPs and battlefield ambulances. In the days ahead, we shall begin to see them in the field.

please lets not post anything that will spoil the image of our galant soldiers...i bet if the south african military can fight the war we have fought in this life..

We have always known that but chose to allow the Children of Anger, Pain and desperation (according to Sule Lamido) to rant.

Someone pointed it out immediately that the said pic was taken in Equitorial Guinea. We just don't know what dubious game to expect from Angry People's Congress.

Oga Asuoka, 100% accurate.

A determined band of mischief makers have made it along with their foreign collaborators a priority to discredit the efforts of the Nigerian military, who are conducting over 90% of military operations in the N.E.

These elements will stop at nothing, at orchestrating their well rehearsed smear campaigns against the military for political gains or to feed their widely held narrow narratives.

Let us get this straight, the Nigerian military remains the best in Africa, our military successes over the past 50 years lays credence to this fact. This insurgency would only make our military stronger.

With the insurgents encircled in gwoza and bama , from the madagali-mafa-marte axis this stage of COIN operations would soon be done with.

It is.

The military needs to carry along military independent photo-journalists, like beegeagle et al.

For example this current exercise in Chad, all photos from this exercise are from foreign news agencies, not a single one from Nigeria.

The South-Africans use bloggers like beeg, the military only provides their logistics (Helicopter, Cars and hotel bill).
