Lagosians resident in the Ogba, Agege area yesterday witnessed an incident that they won’t forget in a hurry.



A popular hotel in the area – Overdrive Hotel was engulfed by a raging fire. The fire which caused panic among residents in the area was eventually put off by men of the Lagos State Fire Service but not without causing damage as the hotel building was completely razed.

Eye-witnesses told Naij.com that when the fire started, lodgers and workers in the hotel scampered for safety by taking to their heels in order not to be hurt by the fire.

When www.metronaija.com got to the scene, there was a large crowd of on-lookers gazing at the men of the fire service as they tried to put out the fire. Already, the fire had already destroyed most parts of the building including the roof-top.



Not much is known about the hotel which is located at the ever-busy Pero road. But the hotel seem to have been a major relaxation point for many of its patrons.
