America is not a friend of Nigeria and so should stop pretending. PDP is not planning anything except APC supporters who know the truth but turn blind eyes to satisfy themselves.

What is US VP's name? No one knows him here. Who is even America to tell Nigeria how to conduct elections. When they rigged Algore out to favour Bush Jr, did Nigeria say anything? That VP must be jobless or the article is not true.

Joe Biden, vice president of the United States, on Wednesday spoke with President Goodluck Jonathan on the 2015 general election, which was rescheduled for March 28 and April 11.

He expressed support for the use of card readers by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the elections, according to a statement issued by the United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria.

Biden also expressed “concern” about recent political violence in the country and “reiterated” the need for Jonathan, the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to condemn it.

THE FULL TEXT:

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden spoke yesterday with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the Nigerian presidential election, which is scheduled for March 28.

The Vice President commended President Jonathan and General Buhari for signing the Abuja Accord in mid-January as a show of their commitment to non-violence throughout the election process.

The Vice President further expressed the United States’ support for the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission and its work to deliver free, fair, and credible elections, in part through its essential efforts to distribute Permanent Voter Cards and help ensure that electronic voter card readers are in place and fully operational.

He also noted his concern about the violence during some recent election-related events and reiterated the need for both candidates to make clear that such violence has no place in democratic elections.

Vice President Biden affirmed that the United States stands with the Nigerian people in support of credible and peaceful elections, and will continue to stand with the Nigerian people whatever the outcome.

Do you think those calls from USA president, VP and others will make any change?
LMAO... They can't dear, refusing to assist in bilateral trade in weapon for fighting insurgent because we didn't heed to their damnation offer of homosexuality nor let them solely benefit from our economy when better countries like china and Russians are offering better trades and services... If Nigeria has no oil will US have a look on us the first time talk more of a second?
USA gains from crisis eg Iraq, Syria, Lybia etc and it can never happen in Nigeria because time is far gone for their bleep acts on other countries... Nigeria is a hot plate for their handling and they know it.

This undue interest in Nigerian politics is suspicious. America is a pure capitalist state and will never express interest in a country if there is nothing to be gained. I sincerely hope Gen Buhari have not entered into any agreement with United States cos that will be terrible for Nigeria. This country never gave us support during the ebola crisis and even refused to sale arms to us in the bid to curb the menace of bokoharam..so can they let us Be??

If not for America's 'we are watching you' stance, Mr Jonathan's original plan to postpone elections indefinitely and hand over to an interim govt will have been executed by now.

The President and his hatchet team have been exploring alternative plans, but each time a senior member of the US govt calls Mr Jonathan, they remind him there will be consequences.

I no PDP kids will soon rush here and say who is America. You wait. Let the President mess up this election, then you will see. His case will be worse than Gbabgo.

There will be no elections this month. Till six months time!

The US should mind their business and stop meddling in other countries' politics. No other country meddles in their politics. Hope they are recovering from the shock of Nathanyahu's victory, after fighting him with everything and everybody they could use. After all they did, Nathanyahu still won. Nobody can play God and no man can curse whom the Lord has blessed.

When the Kowe bird is singing, all other birds shut up.

When we speak no one else can speak.

UK can't and won't go against us and must simply follow our lead.

Not even your Chinese and Russian masters can speak.
