from inception, everybody evenly intelligent but because science students are more involved in calculations and analysis, it improves their analytical skill and reasoning hereby making them better than their art counterparts...
the mathematics, physics, and chemistry helps them understand difficult and abstract things, widens their wealth of experience...
this is not a biased view its something natural.

i dnt believe science students are more intelligent than art student. science students are made to mrmorise and work on formulas that have been existing even before they were born. but art student are made to critically think and solve the day's problem.
i cant just explain why science students with all their 'intelligence' find it difficult to read and simply summerise a short novel.

Anyway, the point is, your jab is wrong. Science dudes write a lot of stuff too. In fact, what science dudes write is in decipherable by any other students. Unlike what art students write.
For example, the derivation of the standard model. It looks like hieroglyphic.

Intelligence is not fixed, it is elastic. You can be as intelligent as you want only if you use your brain properly. Science students look intelligent because their subjects of study encourage them to utilize their brain capacity better than arts students do.

You are so ironically wrong. It's actually the other way round. And I also can't understand why art students with all their 'critical thinking' can't solve simple Newtonian physics. Smh

Science students are way smarter thats why u see Mechanical Engineers,civil engineers , Electrical Engineers ,microbiologists etc taking over banking jobs frm Arts graduates. An average Science student can adapt in any field because he/she finds it easy to understand the basics of anything but its not d case for arts students. Arts students have their strengths like ; most of them are people oriented while most science students are task oriented.

It's very easy, we conducted an interview with 100 nigerian graduates with aptitude test drawn from different strata of cognitive reasoning, guess what? 90% of those that pass are science inclined.
I won't say it's because they are more intelligent. But I guess their curriculum is more intuitive

who cares what it looks like, you don't have to do comparative studies of the political system of two countries during an exam, you don't have to discuss about some dead philosopher's views on the state of nature or discuss the allegory of the cave and how it applies to contemporary politics , you don't have to memorize the constitution, hell you don't have to apply john Locke's views on property to capitalism, you don't have to talk about the evolution of the international system, the peace of Westphalia, the 30 years war, world war 1 and world war 2 in just one exam, so please sit down and don't tell me shiit looks like hieroglyphics.

The truth is that maybe because I spent 6 years studying medicine and my friend spends 4 years + 1 year in law school, then I declare myself more intelligent? Abeg make una leave that thing, my ex was a lawyer and she's way smarter than me, and I smart die!!!

Trust me - I have met someone very good in fine arts (painting) earn a PhD in Bio-Chemistry from a top UK University. He went into sciences because his father wanted him to be able to get a "real" job, his father scorned the arts like some are doing here.

He hated sciences and went back into Arts to be fulfilled and earn a very good living. He felt the years he took to earn the PhD was a waste of time and only to placate his father. He is not using the science PhD degree at the moment.

I don't think there is any level at which you can compare both fields. Art is more about expression and creation while science focuses on discovery and application. Some of the worlds smartest folks were/are in the arts e.g the likes of mozart, bethoven etc.
If I were to answer your question, I would say NO cos like I said earlier, the folks in art seek to create new stuff, while the science folks mostly discover what already exsists and then seek to modify it. I do not think that a science student would do better in arts tho, he/she will most likely perform worse. The art student on the other hand might just trump the science student if he/she ventures into science.

I don't know much about other Art courses, but the average Law student is intelligent. If you know the volume of stuffs we read, you would clap for us.

Yes we don't. But that doesn't make life any easier. Science still beats all these in difficulty.

I opted for art classes coz i kn wat i was going for eventho i was very gud in calculation. I remember back then when it was compulsory for us all to offer furthermath in my sec school. I passed all em science students except a boy who was very good in mathematic. So,it depends on where ur dream lies n what u plan on achieving!!!

There is no difference in intelligence between the two fields - it is like comparing which one of your fingers is unnecessary. Science and Arts are complementary, equally important and require different type of intelligence.

Since the average Nigerian measures success primarily based on money wealth, either can make you successful financially. There are many artists, economists, writers doing very well in diverse professions in Nigeria and overseas.
