Its very easy to hate what u cant acquire.... And in this case u termed it overbilling... My brothers and sisters, NO TOWN IN ANAMBRA collects more dan 50k as brideprice... Am sayin dis with absolute certainty cos i did a journal on culture and its effects on the modern man. I had to interview a lot of traditional rulers and other high profile traditional men. Even my sister's bride price was as little as 20k and tradition demands that u use d money and buy something she will value... Thats Anambra for u. Pls dnt believe everything u hear. One love. |

Darkrebel666: What about oyinbo and mtchewww |
Re: What Is So Special About Igbo Girls?? by Nobody: 1:59am On Mar 31, 2015 |
Rainess: ~ Oyinbo is a word the yorubas used to refer to light-skinned people in the pre-colonial era By light-skinned people, I mean Albinos. . It means Oyin= Honey Bo= Peeled together it means peeled honey. They later used it as a term for the white colonial masters due to the fact that their skin was white, pale sort of. and mtsheeww is not pidgin Mtshewww is an onomatopoeia signifying the HISSING sound.. It was coined by Nigerian Internet users. |

chiefdoctor:It is not any widespread issue, you can believe whatever you want to believe about your own people. I am surprised how strangers/outsiders will claim to know our culture and tradition more than us. There is never a place in Anambra that a family would give a list of 350k then request 1million naira as "dowry". Do you even know that it's compulsory the bride's family returns the dowry should there be a divorce thereby making families demand/accept what they can pay back without stress. |

Long discussion about this topic here by ibo people. https://www.facebook.com/timothy.ofoegbu/posts/10152572264924795 I pity the obnoxious girls here saying things like "we are too beautiful and special" etc. May God help you. I think it's generally better to leave ibos for ibos. Marry the hot babes from other tribes. Because let me tell you, Ibos are very traditional, even professed chrsitians. If you already do not agree with their marriage tradition, you will disagree with all their other almost-fetish traditions. As to team "Anambra can't do this", let's hope for the sake of your daughters that you are speaking the truth...cuz boys aren't smiling O. If not, if you let your so-called elders who have already lived their lives and who obviously hate you ... block you from living yours, you will have no-one to blame but yourself. I would have honestly thought that by now igbo youth from the expensive tribes would have already been more vocal about this issue that keeps them single and sinning for eons. Because let's face it, not every girl will marry a rich man...at least not at that point in time. |

softysparky: Read the fawking article http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/matrimonial-hurdles-1-marriage-igbo-land-separates-boys-men/ Better go and revolt against your wicked elders for the sake of you and your sisters. See how that poor girl was forced to marry a rich old illiterate she doesn't love. From the very same Anambra that you haven't made us hear word about since. |

Adaobi12: With this statement, let me hear one ediot get angry when we say you are being sold to the man and thus have no say in the home. If you truly understand what you are saying, you will rethink. Besides the insult ofcourse that you are valuable and that the man is invaluable. |
