Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega is a Nigerian academic and Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano. On 8 June 2010 he was nominated by President Goodluck Jonathan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), subject to Senate confirmation, as a replacement for Professor Maurice Iwu, who vacated the post on 28 April 2010. [1]

In March 2009 the Vice-Chairman of Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Maina Maaji Lawan spoke against a motion that questioned the integrity of INEC Chairman Maurice Iwu.[5] Iwu's tenure was due to expire on 13 June, 2010. However, on 28 April 2010 Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, who has committed himself to pursuing electoral reform, removed Iwu from office.[6]

How about Okwesilieze Nwodo? He got rid of him almost immediately after the primaries and replaced him with Turkur then this Muazu that looks and acts like a mole. Understand that that position was for the SE. . Jonathan STRONGLY believed in a ruse north-south south alliance, one of those lingering civil war propaganda tales wholesomely believed by the vulnerable eastern minorities . Very funny stuff. Even as he was being clobbered to death, he was writing stewpid letters to notherners to remind them of the so called accord, when he should simply lift a finger and save his political life. . Apart from some job oppurtuinities that opened up in the armed forces, ministries and such agencies like the immigration and co, oppurtuinities igbo couldnt access in the past because they seemed reserved for the two groups that always cornered everything, there was no remarkable infastructural make over in the east. . He treated a lot of igbo appointees with levity. Check out Bath Nnajis case or even that of the sacked immigration boss. Odimegwus was humuliating. . Yet igbos got more breathing space under this administration than anytime in the past.. that is telling.

Funny enough those who are claiming OBJ was better must have forgotten he wanted to go for a third term, only to be stopped by the Legislature led by Ken Nnamani.

Buhari has "won", even though he has no record of achieving anything other than the very vague stories in history books from his brief tenure as DICTATOR. His VP, nothing as well.

This reminds me the Israelites who after leaving Pagan Egypt , began to worship a pagan god immediately without thinking of where they had just come from.
