Odunayaw: We have faith. The only problem is this shows why bokoharam has the damn guts to perform ambush on our troops. Top officers need to do something about this. |

jakeporeshenko:Don't be ridiculous. The A-29 and MI-35m come with dedicated ISR pods and incredible loiter time. Does the JF-17 come with a dedicated pod? Can you provide evidence to support Nigeria purchased JF-17s with targeting pods? Don't be unfortunate in 2018, apply some common sense. |

kabe1: MUMU next time you keep your stinky mouth and clueless brain off what you don't know. The rafale jets is way faster than the jf17 and it's been neutralising attacking ground targets in the Sinai region in Egypt. In fact speed plus precision guided weaponry is what we need in these scenario. The handles of Alpha jet been hit here is 50/50 where you have gathering of AAG. The jf17 is what we really need in these type of situation, taking out the hard targets; " BH main guns". Then the Alpha jets or attack helicopters can then do the sweeping of other soft targets and escaping terrorist. Only a mad man who ulter what you just said, "a multiple fighter jet too fast". So why are they buying them in the first place.... MUMU. 2 Likes |

tdayof: If we get now, so what's delaying us . When we can get cheap jf17s or his it till our entire force is been wiped out. |

bidexiii:E just dey do me make that kind of wind for Chad happen for Nigeria. Taking away the A-jet and F-7 then leaving us with the helicopters. Trust me we will be proud of our airforce is weeks. 2 Likes |

kabe1: The Russians have been dealing with ISIS with SU35, SU30 and others. The JF17 is our best bet for now because we need speed and noreover, the JF17 can drop ordinance at a very high altitude. 1 Like |

Odunayaw: Wow , wow................. The jf17s is not built only for acrobatic purpose only, it's a multirole fighter jet built to take out ground target. It takes a dare devil pilot of a Mi24/35 to attack such gathering of enemies with AA guns attacking from different directions. What we need here is a combination of a faster jet and precision guided muinition/bomb. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by tdayof(m): 11:01pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Odunayaw: ISR gets a coordinate and the JF17 drops the bomb. When are we to receive the Tucano? |

Nemesi4u do you think SIGINT/COMINT can help with war against terrorism. Intercepting BHT communications. I mean masking their entire area so every single call is being and even walkie talkie communications Is being monitored? |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Odunayaw(m): 11:12pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
bidexiii:For such a swarm attack, the JFs would have to make passes and more passes hence my acrobatic tag The Mi24/35 could have fired ATGMS |

tdayof:Taking into consideration I haven't watched the video and Jake says both parties were danger close High altitude kaboom would be a no no Only CAS flyables could have gone low enough to reach out and swat those flies. The Hinds could have taken out the 76mm at least |

Odunayaw: Danger close but looking at the beginning of the video, 500kg bomb won't even come close to our troops. They kept advancing. They were well positioned. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 11:37pm On Jan 15, 2018 |
Odunayaw:yeah, we field mortars too, intact its a key support weapon during basic training. I know The Infantry Support Wing at NASI jaji holds a course on Mortar system alone. The whole thing don tire me sef. I learnt BTRs have also been withdrawn from the theatre also. Finally regarding this ambush I feel NAF Regiment guys could have done better, after all this has been what they have been training all this while for. |

Please, do our vehicles at least have some form of tracking device or nay? BH been capturing bits and pieces of infantry vehicles but not heard once of the army striking their bases after they must have driven back to their hideout. They could either outsource this to a third party company or potentially acquire short or long term measures. |

Stephandeswardt: The jets were not firing plus there's no other way they should react. Did you notice the presence of Cameroon most feared units there? BIR |

when Nigeria is truely ready to fight this insurgency then we will. With a foreign reserves of $40b we could easily take 3$b and buy planes, helicopter's, tanks, Actually precision guided weapons. Almost 10 years down the line the military still uses Soft skinned vehicle to fight. Disgrace! They better stop the politics around this thing or call the Russians to help them . |
