IGP, Suleiman Abba
The Network on Police Reform In Nigeria, NOPRIN, on Wednesday demanded the sack of the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, the leadership of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, and all the service chiefs in the country in order to overhaul the entire security system of the nation.
According to PM news, the organization listed several sins against Abba including human rights abuse and corruption while saying the entire security system has been politicized.
At a press conference held in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, and led by its National Co-ordinator, Nwanguma Okechukwu, the civil society group championing reforms for the police, also asked Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, to ensure that he reconciled all committee reports for the reform of the police and other security agencies in the country.
“All service chiefs, the Director of SSS, the Inspector-General of Police and all heads of similarly compromised security services as well as senior officers who have been politically exposed should be retired compulsorily to restore integrity and professionalism in our security services.
“They clearly showed their loyalty is, not to the law, not to the Nigerian people, through their elected representatives but solely to the executive and the ruling party,”the organization said.
Among other things, the organization urged Buhari to also support a reform to stipulate leadership qualificationsand “entrench competence, integrity and effectiveness, ensure operational autonomy and insulate the police leadership from political control.”
The group further re-presented a report on Police Reform in Nigeria, which it said it first presented to President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 but which had not been considered to date.
Meanwhile, Mr. Suleiman Abba has warned police escort attached to politicians not to follow them to polling centers on Election Day

You guys should take it easy na, haba! If he sacks all the people he met there how many will he now be left to work with? Even if he replaces Mr. Abba, what guarantee is there that the next one would be better or won't be more corrupt? The entire police force is in a shambles, except you want to overhaul all, in fact, except you want to sack ALL of them, because I can boldly tell you that even the next man to replace this man is as worse off as he. This is because they've all been together for long and they are all not just colleagues, but 'partners' in (the game) service. Except you guys are suggesting he (the new president) goes to pick someone else entirely from outside the police force to head them, which is not possible.
..
My take would be, allow them to still continue with their work, because all they need is not necessarily a change of leadership or 'overhauling' but rather a change of orientation, mindset, and re-orientation. Now that Buhari is there (though I don't really know what he's capable of 'yet'), I strongly believe he can help them achieve that instead of just firing and firing them.

Anytime I see his name, I remember abba moro. I wonder what is going through his mind now. I hope he is tried for the murder and exploitation of those who lost their lives in the immigration saga.

It is only normal that he would sack them in favour of those he can relate better with for the greater good of the country.
Any other reason is unjustified and unpardonable. Aso villa is a call to serve not a personal castle.

Good!

1. Suleiman Abba
2. Brig. Momoh(remember the ekiti election )
3. The former army spoke person(the one that was transferred to Edo recently and he was the first person that openly told the world that BUHARI's certificate was not with the military board).
4.CDS
5. Minimah
6. Chief of naval staff
7. Mbu
8. Maryline orgar and the director , DSS
9. DIG txt, etc

These above listed men in the security community must go down ASAP. They did more harm to the apc and the Nigerian people more than you can imagine.

He should be dismissed so he'd have no pension or gratuity. Then he should be probed and anything he acquired illegally returned to the treasury or asset management corporation as the case may be.

This man overstepped his boundary when he tear gassed federal law makers trying to gain entry into their own offices. Then he put the icing on the cake when he refused to recognise the speaker as the speaker and went so far as to withdraw his security. He imperilled our democracy.

maryline Ogar must go down as well. The courtesan couldn't differentiate between an external 'hard-drive' and what is used by hackers to hack into a system. She accused apc of trying to inflate voters record in INEC database just to favor the party at the poll. That accusation shows height of illiteracy in our intelligence community. Ogar must go to jail!
