A driver with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Delta State got mobbed on Thursday for trying to allegedly divert election materials.

The angry mob descended on the driver and gave him a savage beating in Asaba for allegedly diverting from the route taken by other drivers.

After loading election materials for Ethiope East and West from the Central Bank premises in the INEC pick-up van, the driver is said to have been stopped by the suspicious mob who also observed that he had no police escort.
The crowd thereafter descended on him when he could not provide any satisfactory explanations for his action.
It took the intervention of the police to save the driver form being lynched.

inec should be held responsible if this robber called driver had succeeded. why did they send him out without escort. kudos to the patriotic Nigeria that saved the situation. inec pls be wise. state inec rec pls be warned.

He deserved what he got! Gone are the days where elections were more a less a Nigerian home video. The people have woken up and realized that their destiny is in their hands. People who perpetuate election irregularities should be prosecuted and jailed. It should be a treasonable offence!

INEC did not send him out without escort, he stole his way out of the convoy. Am sure he would have given a story of being hijacked or robbed when he is done diverting the election materials to whoever. Nigerians are the cause of our problems, we are too damn corrupt.
