Bello is a friend who just cannot do without his phone in a day.....his phone has been awesome to him he says because he uses it run some data packages and is rewarding but its funny that he's just so addicted to the phone that in a day, he hardly can leave it for 5 mins. Imagine setting a table and leaving the food so cold for about 2hrs+ amongst other things yet he's not showing the seriousness to stop soon. What steps can be used to help him reduce his addiction? |

I pass him I nearly got sacked cos of my addiction to phone but I never stopped.. my boss gave up worrying me instead |

The first and probably most important form of leadership is personal leadership- your ability to lead yourself and keep your desires/weaknesses under check. Once you fail here, you are most likely to fail when you get to a higher level of leadership. For your friend, it is sad that he's been controlled by a non-living thing. His phone! No matter how much you want to help him, You can't do much unless he acknowledges that he has a problem, and seek help. One way he can gradually get over his phone is for him to begin to mean what he says, as well as act it. Eg I won't chat until 10am. Also, he must understand that his phone is his possession and not the other way round. He's also not indebted to anybody so it is not a must for him to reply every chat or pm. The truth is, it is not something. He can stop overnight. If he tries to, he'll find himself returning to it only after a few days of stopping. But with discipline, he will get to that point where he has put his phone "under his subjection" Ehh..you can also help him by helping him keep his phone away.
