SHEKAU! TIMES ERROR

Influence according to the dictionary, is the power to affect, control or manipulate something or someone; the ability to change the development of fluctuating things such as conduct, thoughts or decisions.
No doubt the dictionary in defining influence, didn't say anything about positive or negative influence. And it even allowed for words such as manipulate and fluctuating amongst other in the definition, which is what our subject of discourse has been able to do.
Just like TIMES Magazine is an influencer, so is Abubakar Shekau. Agree or not! But, over the years the former unlike her fellow influencer has been well revered and commended.
But today, what our own ever revered Times Magazine has done to her image is only to give rise to mediocrity, dumbness and irritation. Times 100 is like the Oscar award for movies and like the awaiting of a block buster or a new album by Whitney Houston which everyone desires to see.
OK! Enough of the stories. It saddens my heart first as human and then as a Black man from the great Black Nation called Nigeria, that after Times showed up with her list weeks back it had embedded in it the name- Abu Musa'b all Zarqawi. That's Al Qaeda's (a dreaded and terrible terror group) leaders name on a list made for renowned clergy men, activists, erudite scholars, respected political leaders, and so on. That error by Times didn't meet enough criticisms and guess what they did? They decided to rub mud on the Nigerian and African face. Maybe, they decided to bring Abu Musa forward to see what the world will say before doing what they seek most, that is, including Abu Shekau in a latter edition.
It was indeed a shocker. What? That a wicked, brutal, heartless and irritating wizard who through his foot soldiers of shame and disgust, having rendered our families homeless, widows childless, condemned communities to shambles and shackles, made parents childless, made homes empty, stolen our pride and sold it to the dogs, and damaged more our damaged 'sovereign' nation is on the list of Times 100 most influencial persons in the world. It is outrageous and callous. Why on earth will this people (I mean who ever sat together to create this pain called list), do this to us as individuals and as a Nation.
Yes! Shekau's has people who follow him, but for what purpose. What exactly does he promote just like his fellow (Abu of All Qaeda). And what exactly is Times telling us? That we can also begin to maim and kill, and that all we need to do is become popular in that regard with a few followers and boom! We are on Times 100?
On a lighter mood, can we also conclude that our #XenophobicSA brothers too will make the list in the nearest future.
Let me conclude with this. It is okay for Times to damage their reputation, but please Times don't celebrate that which we detest much and don't bring extremism and violence to our face like its nothing. We detest Shekau, we detest the damage the white does to us through the media and we detest everything evil. Don't make us detest you Times Magazine

Nigerians and Africans must show the world that we detest evil
