I thought Ameachi's House of Assembly amended the High Court Law to the effect of making the chief registrar an acting chief judge of the state on administrative matters. Except Ameachi wants to approbate and reprobate hence, the chief registrar should swear wike as provided in S(185)2 of the CFRN as amended 2011 1 Like |

Section 271 subsection 4 states, 'If the office of Chief Judge of a State is vacant or if the person holding the office is for any person unable to perform the functions of the office, then until a person has been appointed to and has assumed the functions of that office, or until the person holding the office has resumed those functions, the Governor of the State shall appoint the most senior Judge of the High Court to perform those functions'.Note that the constitution says, 'the Governor of the State shall appoint the most senior Judge of the High Court to perform those functions'; so your assertion that the Governor does not need to appoint an acting chief judge is wrong! 10 Likes |

Whether there is a Chief Judge or not, the tenure of Amaechi ends on May 29. And the swearing in of Wike starts when?
