The South African Consul General in Nigeria, Sam Monaisa, has announced that the South African Consulate in Nigeria will close operations until Thursday. The decision was made in response to a combination of threats from social media and anti-xenophobia protests by Nigerians. Monaisa wrote that, although the situation in South Africa was calming down, he still had concerns about Nigerians especially those being repatriated from South Africa. He said that Nigerians on social media were blowing things out of proportion and that the situation in Durban was calming down. He also warned South Africans living abroad to be cautious as South African businesses and citizens have become threats in retaliation of the xenophobic attacks. In Mozambique, Sasol Ltd., a Johannesburg based company has announced that it will be repatriating their South African employees in the country as a precaution. http://saharareporters.com/2015/04/22/south-africa-closes-consulate-nigeria Cc. lalasticlala ishilove |

Better for them. When Nigerians decide to react, they know how bloody it can be; we take it to the extreme. |

Nigeria is a Country of Cowards and we will do nothing. Even if 30,000 Nigerians are killed at once in any country anywhere, nobody cares, and the reason why?life is sweet and so the dead should bury the dead, and the living should keep on living. As we speak, there are Nigerians sleeping(keeping spaces)in from of the SA Embassy so they go in for Visas in the morning. We need to take ourselves serious before anybody, we are very good with the casualization of deaths,i.e Boko Haram killed 100 people, and we shrug it off as if the 100 people are 100 chickens. So if other countries see us as not caring for lives here, makes any Nigerian anywhere in the world a fair target for everything from harassment to killing. The Consulate should not have closed, as the Nigerians you will see near your embassy, are those with their hearts pounding, praying the SA Visas should be given to them. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

wadetaw202:yea...southafrican didnt consider that Nigerians have establishment in their country before they started chasing Nigerians around and killing them. Would you take a job from someone that hate your family and even kill them? It is not about those their companies in Nigeria, it is about hundreds being killed in their country. |
