Mogidi: Don't mix things up, we're talking about the current political democratic dispensation. Whatever it was that brought him to power remains arguable; but what is certain is that so far Yorubas (Obasanjo) ruled 8 years, Hausas (Yaradua) 2 years, Ijaws (Jonathan) 6 years and Ibos () 0 years. This is the reality and Yorubas currently have the longest presidential reign in this new democratic dispensation. Now we have a new government coming up and guess what it's a Hausa president with a Yoruba VP, which emphasizes the political dominance of that socially intelligent and politically savvy tribe called Yorubas. I think the ibos have a lot to learn from this tribe, especially in terms of politics. 1 Like |

CyerSeries:That is the problem with you lot. Even with your assumed advancements, the northerners too would not want to be Igbos. You see traits in them that's unbecoming and they too see many in you. You can have all the supposed advantages you ascribe to yourselves but without empathy you won't make it in public affairs, as you'll be sabotaged |

MalcoImX:you see your life..You brag about holding power but the more you hold power, the more your people suffer and become impoverished..it's better not to be in power and progress in all spheres of life than to be in power and be drowned in abject poverty and penury.. 1 Like |

realjoker: Igbos only fights for their individual gains. They seldom join social causes where they fight for the larger society, such as join socialist parties and fight for the economic welfare of all people. Instead, they are nascent capitalists struggling for their individual gains but not for social gains. http://www.igbofocus.com/html/the_igbo_problem_can_be_fixed.html Very very true. You hardly see them fight or engage in any collective social event or agitation on behalf of the society in general. What happened when the rest of the country was fighting and risking their lives to put the same GEJ they are dying over in office? Iboland was silent and missing in action? After June 12 nko? They jumped on the next ekenedilichukwu back to their villages.... |

[s] Amazo:[/s] Not impressed at all considering the SW boast being the second largest tribe. Remind me how many Hausas have ruled Nigeria and then compare it to the second largest tribe. |

MalcoImX: It was really bemusing to see how that Jonathan who was elected a PRESIDENT of NIGERIA suddenly reduce himself due to senseless partisanship into the president of the SE + SS alone, and this was the story (and bane) of his presidency. For example, jonathan's government allowed the Boko haram insurgency grow into a fullblown terror outfit and for about 4 years they unleashed terror on the North East and surrounding regions and it was as if we had no government in Nigeria or better yet that the Jonathan government wasn't interested in the security of the North as if these people aren't Nigerian citizens - oh no, not that, maybe because it was not the SE + SS region. Also when the chibok girls were kidnapped, the callous indifference of the Jonathan government was just pure evil. Initially, they acted in denial that the kidnap never occurred. Now, let's not even talk about corruption. These are just a few of the fatal errors that killed the Jonathan presidency that initially enjoyed the goodwill of the Nigerian masses from all zones probably as much or more than Abiola did. It was only a few weeks to elections, when he realized election defeat was imminent that Jonathan suddenly wanted to start acting like the president of Nigeria but it was too late at that point. 2 Likes |

CyerSeries:I've made my point. With all your supposed 'advancement', no northerner envies you and will want to be like you. And as for power, you are not to be listened for implying that certain 'advanced' humans have developed to a level that they don't want it. |

I am appauled by the silence of the mods at this thread. Lalasticlala seun (or however is incharge) , someone opened a thread in the morning on how Nigeria will look like if the Igbos leave. The thread barely reached two pages before it was hidden. Pls either hide this topic or unlock the morning one for equity to prevail. Thanks. |

MalcoImX: Such happiness derives from vindictiveness and such people are the ones who reason such fatal atrocities on the Northern populace as being some sort of revenge against the North for the ibo casualties during the civil war. Only a deranged mind holds such a view |

CyerSeries:You started the complex of being better than the northerners and I objectively told you everybody wants to be himself. People don't run away from economically viable environments to poverty-stricken areas. The barren, erosion-ravaged land that you yourself are running away from to the North and West is the least place to be proud of. |

Re: How Can Nigeria Produce An Ibo President? by Amazo: 9:05pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
madamoringo: Hmmm, this seems like the quote of the day: "No presidency for lazy people". It's indisputable that the ibos aren't lazy, at least physically. But could they be "lazy politically" and aren't ready to do the necessary things and work hard at it to achieve and earn an ibo presidency fairly and not as a political handout some are wishing for? The ibo political elite need to answer this question. |

aresa:[b]truth is bitter when GEJ was being bully by the Turai cabals, they were no where to be found san Dora Akuyili, even his ijaw kinsmen were clueness on what step to take, its the same yoruba they now call names the only people that stood up for him and fight for his right |
Re: How Can Nigeria Produce An Ibo President? by Amazo: 9:11pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
CyerSeries: Correction, this is not a mockery thread and if that's how you see it, then you really need to examine how you think. This thread is at worst a public discussion (a national inter-tribal townhall meeting as it were) where pragmatic ideas are shared and sensible opinions are delibrated. |
