Jonathan was able to manage our situation very well. We hardly witnessed fuel scarcity even during festive seasons. Now he has been voted out of office, it is now Buhari's headache on how to manage this fuel scarcity incidents. Let's see how the senile certificateless dictator will achieve this.

This present scarcity is still under Jonathan's administration. If he doesn't fix it before handing over then we will know who is behind it.

You are a goat whose dullness is of irredeemable dimensions. The cause of the fuel scarcity was not the oil marketers this time. It was the transporters of the product that have been on strike since Friday of last week claiming 20B Naira is being owed them by the marketers.

GEJ and his cronies have used this 156B largess to make their last dip into the national treasury in the guise of oil subsidy. Didn't he just pay 320B only 4 months ago? How often are the marketers paid the subsidy? Will you pay them all the money you owe them before Nigeria even makes the money?

Let them be deceiving themselves.

I had to buy fuel at N150/litre yesterday.

I hope a long lasting solution is finally found to this constant recurring menace.

A rich country with over 60 percent of its population in poverty.
An oil producing country that imports petrol..
Sounds like a blessed country that has coursed herself.

Inter alia, the government should infiltrate all these petroleum marketers unions and let them create parallel unions within themselves, otherwise they will forever remain the 4th arm of govt in Nigeria. Subsidy or no subsidy. Refinery or no refinery.

see your logic. Did this problem start in 16 years. You and me would agreee that in terms of fuel scarcity, this government has been the best in managing this crisis. I also want our refinery to work perfectly but you giving excuse for this incoming government is not healthy. I wish you and others that pressed for change would continue to demand for the promised changed. It is easier to stand outside a house and set it ablaze because you know you could easily escape.

SUBSIDY IS A BIG FRAUD TO THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE.
IT HAS MADE SOME ROGUES BILLIONAIRES OVERNIGHT AND IS STILL SUSTAINING THEM.
THESE MARKETERS HAVE GONE TO GREAT LENGTHS TO BLACKMAIL AND DISCREDIT THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT.

PRESIDENT GEJ SHOULD SCRAP ALL FORMS OF FUEL SUBSIDY BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE.

THE NIGERIAN CITIZEN IS GAINING NOTHING FROM THE EXISTING SUBSIDY AS WE HAVE BEEN BUYING FUEL ABOVE N100/LITER FOR SOME TIME NOW EVEN WITH THE LOW PRICE OF CRUDE OIL.
NIGERIANS SHOULD SAY NO TO FURTHER SUBSIDY, LETS STOP ENRICHING SOME SELECTED FEW INDIVIDUALS.

Shame shame! It's so bad here in ibadan. We don't even get the black market to buy until we get close to Sabo!

GMB should face the refineries so we can stop this yeye importation of fuel and end subsidy once and for all.

very very bad in lagos.
Very interesting that it is biting very severe in Lagos. Why should they not suffer when they do not produce even one littre yet voted out the man who produces the oil to produce fuel. Them never see anything. The Lagos and other stupid states will continue to suffer when Buhari takes over fully. They will cry rivers of water.
Hello Niger Delta militants, get fully ready for a show down. Pay back time is at hand.

Subsidy must go!

Importation of fuel must stop!

Refineries must be revived and resurrected.

The subsidy cabals must be dealt with!

We must work hand in hand with the incoming government to make Nigeria great.

We shall get there and we WILL get there!

In God we trust for Buhari.

Yes it won't but it is this same arrangement that they've been doing for the past four years with little fuel scarcity. These people warned last week that there'd be fuel scarcity this week but our leaders were not proactive. It is this week they are just releasing money. It's the same way ASUU, doctors, and co threaten strike all on deaf ears until the strike eventually begins. Our leaders are too selfish, fuel scarcity doesn't affect them. They don't even pay, they just go to fill their tanks at designated pump stations. Their fuel doesn't fail, they don't need or use our healthcare system or educational institutions. Yet they are one of the most highly paid. We're waiting for change.

subsidy must and will stay as long as importation continues and impoortation will continue as long as refineries aren't working and our refineries can't work to maximum output until next year and that is even if the fg repairs them. And even if they do repair them,it can't cater for all our national fuel demand which means until new ones are built ,fuel will still be imported to augment the shortfall. The solution to this problem is the complete deregulation of the petroleum sector and each state must or should have its own refinery . But the million dollar question is tinubu and co ,military heads and political heads are all part and parcel of this cabal. So let's see how buhari will tackle them.

why the sudden need for refinery? Will the refinery be built in a month before may 29? Wouldn't it be wise and expedient that they wait for the incoming administration and look into their plans? Is this move not ill maked,as it will further affect our economy and the poor masses?

It baffles me too!
