Without dispute, the social media played a major role in helping Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to win the March 28 presidential election. Majority of Nigerian youths used the social media to change the negative public opinion about Buhari and his beautiful daughter Zahra also attracted many supporters on the internet. The social media campaign of Buhari was better and more effective and positive than that of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan who thought he had enough money to buy the support and votes of millions of voters and ended being swindled by members of his own Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who deceived him. The All Progressives Congress (APC) won the social media war for Buhari and the rest is now history.

Buhari is Nigeria's 21st Century President. Utilizing and maximizing science and modern technology to drive his message.

While Jonathan with all the loots and man power at his disposal cannot own a functional Twitter Account and other facilities on the web. His FB page is redundant and a ghost of itself.

If Buhari should run Nigeria half the efficiency of his campaign, I see a greater Nigeria ahead.

Social media indeed!!! What pecentage of almajiris or even the average northerner uses the social media. The yorubas who were making the highest noise only returned a paltry margin of 500,000 votes in six states!!!

The organised a one million man March in Lagos for Buhari but couldn't give him up to a million votes in the elections

Yeah, I think the social media helped (part of campaign strategies). and for the PDD instead of taking more time and means of devising effective strategies, they were busy searching for buhari's waec results. I heard they finnaly found it ( after the election.)

BABA HYPOCRITE

BABA MAGICIAN

Prove us wrong by probing

Tinubu OBJ Saraki Atiku Rochas Amaechi

Prove us wrong by probing the corrupt Federal Civil Service which is dominated by Tinubu's people

Sir

Tinubu's people voted you because they believe they can steal the oil wealth and presidency through you

They believe Tinubu through Osinbajo can control your government the way Idiagbon did

Sir

They do not believe in change because if they do, they would have voted you in 2007 and 2011

Remember that you are a descendant of Usman Dan Fodio

Remember that your ancestors never allowed the Oduduwas deceive them

@ post: indeed the social media played a very huge role, and it does in elections world wide these days. That was why when TANoids kept chanting "Buhari the social media president", we kept laughing at their folly. Them na analog peeps and had no idea what was coming for them until it struck them like a bolt of lighting. smiley

True....It contributed to the victory of GMB and the loss of GEJ.

We now need to go a step further to use this same social media to demand accountability from all office holders. We need to make our government work int he interest of the masses.

Bros face it the SW contribution to GMB's victory is paltry.Only Kano state gave him a margin of 1.7 margins.if Tinubu is called jagaban because of 500,000 margin,Then kwankwaso will be a mega Jagaban.

Why do you think they have decided to relegate Tinubu in APC.
