Op ur knowledge about tropicalization is half baked, not complete. Nigeria is so HOT and we all need to embrace the act of tropicalization. If u really wanna tropoxalize ur car, then u have to remove the thermostat, let ur fans spin non stop, change to double cell radiator, remove ur catalytic converter because it is not needed. Then remove all ur 02 sensors (both upstream and downstream). Then disconnect ur idle air control valve, if possible convert to caburator. Oh u also need to remove that oyinbo tyres because they are not meant for our weather. Don't mind all those car manufacturers, they don't know what they are doing. If they reccomend 195/55/r15, u have to change it to 225/70/r18. And if they recommend 33psi tyre pressure, u have to change to 60psi because our road is harsh. And don't forget to always use 20w50 motor oil. Those oyinbo dey reccomend 5w20, shey dem no know say our weather is too hot? How can we use that light oil in this hot weather? It won't work. Now that is some BAD A$S TROPICALIZATION. 14 Likes |

Now I understand, if you felt i offended your sensibilities in religion, I apologize, but I thought islam section was for islam peopl, how did i got entrance but that is ok, we dont have to take everything we read online serious...some people are here to learn and catch fun not to make enemies and not to let go of some post....I dont fight in name of religion, I feel that God can handle his fight be it Allah or God...that is by the way Oh, everybody keeps saying source, I will give source but to be frank with you...my car has never overheated since i tropicalized it, yes it might not work for every car engine, some engines are less adaptable some are...just like conversion maybe manual to auto transmission or auto trasmission to manual drive../some cars can make these transmission seamless some cant...so it depends on the car you drive and how you know it I believe that as a good driver, you should be in tune and one with your car and I did not post balderdash...just that it doesnt tally with yours doesnt make it balderdash pls learn how to accomodate others and take criticism...never let things weigh us down...life is just once, so we live it...IT MIGHT WORK FOR SOME CARS AND PEOPLE AND if it does work(Tropicalization) for some peeps why use the term balderdash have a blessed weekend and i must say your type is rare...seeing a woman that knows cars..how i wish my wife can be as savvy as you, or even know how to detech low level of hydraulic fluid or common meaning of dasboard lights...to be frank, i am an admirer of you I will follow you....dont let religion get in between my admiration for you But i know at the end of the day you cant drive a stick...but i still appreciate...have a slpendid day Nicve one Coldplay007: |

lol bro that is tropicalization gone crazy or too far pls dont tamper with tyre PSI indication but you can change the tyres from snow types to tropical tyre...oh DUNLOP aint here again and the double cell radiator thing, i dont buy it, but if the car is single fan, you can make it double fan connected directly and why removing catalytic converter b, it makes your car guzzle damn too much and it putds poisionous gas to the enviroment...you can see your car wont be converting fumes again..I NO SUPPPORT THAT ONE.... IN TERMS OF OIL...I USE ORIGINAL SEA HORSE so you find the ones that is okay for your car...PMS i should be buying premium fuel but that cant be found anywhere in Nigeria so i just buy any fuel but NEVER BLACK MARKET it tells on my injector...But i have learnt to service it with my injector cleaner..how I wish i can get a tropical paint here in Nigeria...my car body paint seems to fade after few months and I use Siekens greenhulk: |

I used to use OANDO with Oil Treatment but I found sea horse or was advised to use Sea Horse with oil treatment, which works wonderful and funny enough i change my oil once in two months and the engine runs smoothly, no noise So why change the winning team bro diportivo: |

tonychristopher: We are on the same page. Ur 'original seahorse' is probably 20w50. Manufacturers recommend 5w20 but it is too damn light and our weather is too damn hot, that thing will evaporate in our engine, so good to use 20w50. Catalytic converters are for emission purpose, and we dont do emission test here, so yank it off bro. |

Tokunbo cars over heat cos they are tokunbo moreover the way they are driven sometimes on bad roads affect something in the radiator |

Good word. Let them know. Some parts of the states where these cars come from are hotter than certain parts of Nigeria. These cars have been put to test by various simulations. My problem with Nigeria and our mechanics is we never create or develop stuff, but are very quick to destroy cars professionals have made. I have used all my tokunbo cars with thermostat and single cell radiators without any issues. The truth is cars don't just overheat because of thermostat or radiators, you have fans, leaking or rusted radiators, bad radiator covers, leaking hoses, leaking coolant containers etc abatically: 1 Like |

have ever asked yourself the main causes of overheating? the main list is 1 failed thermostat stuck shut i.e it wont open to let cold coolant from radiator 2 failed water pump even when the thermostat open there is no enough force to mix the cold coolant from radiator and the hot coolant from the engine and force the hot coolant to the radiator for cooling 3 failed temperature sensor, it wont trigger the radiator fun to run especially when stuck in traffic due to the fact that no air is being forced into the radiator grill, this process happenswhen driving eg at 15mph and above (no need for the fun to kick since its work is done by the speed of the car driving above 15mph) 4 leaking radiator 5 leaking water pump 6 ignorant of the owner not checking water levels etc 7 not reading the manual and following hearsay, from my observation some people here some thought that if the temperature gauge is at half mark its over heating due to the fact that they have seen car that has thermo stripped and constant run fan and the temperature is always on the qauter mark operating temperature of car should be between 89 and 100 and it doesnt matter whether its in alaska, namib, kalahari, sahara, iceland, north pole the 4 things thermo, temperature sensor, fan and radiator work together in maintaining the desired temperature remember for the radiator to cool the coolant it needs one thing air but what differ is how the air is being delivered to it, it either by the movement of the car 15/20 mph speed or by the fan running so with or without a double cell radiator if any of the two delivery system are not effiecent coolant wont be cooled in enough and when the thermostat opens the coolant from the radiator would be still hot therefore engine temperature remains high 1 Like |

California is 3 times hotter than Nigeria. Why do we still have thermostats on our cars ?? The problem with Africans is that they can't manufacture shiit & when a set of white engineers succeeds in manufacturing some damn cars, Africans will like to Customize/tropicalize some shiit they don't know how it was manufactured. @ OP. I had this problem. It happened in one crazy traffic, my radiator just busted open and the water escaped. My mechanic sealed my radiator. Reset the engine, and my car started again. 1 week later, the heat meter started reading to red (meaning its over heating) I called another mechanic who recommended I should buy a double cell radiator. he removed the thermostat. My car is working fine now. However, he said I should not use AC for now, that I should change my radiator fan. he claimed the radiator fan is not strong enough. How true is this? And also, I noticed that my engine is now high. Why is this? Is any harm in this? I love this thread. Its about my car. |

tonychristopher: You made major misconceptions on how the thermostat operates in relationship with the cooling fan. In fact, the thermostat has no direct or indirect connection to the cooling fans especially the electrical ones. You should know that the thermostat is completely a mechanical device while the electric cooling fan is an electromechanical device. There is no physical connection by switch or wire between them. Therefore, the thermostat does not control the function of the cooling fan. The cooling fan is controlled by coolant temperature sensor, ECU, Relay in that communication order. The temp sensor sends the correct temperature of the coolant to the ECU which has a preset temp if reach triggers the relay to switch on the fans. After which the temp drops to acceptable zone the the ECU communicates the relay to stop. The process happens intermittently as temp fluctuates due to many factors such as engine load, speed (related to amount of air cooling), ambient temperature etc non of which relates to thermostat but depending on the coolant temp sensor. Note that both could be housed in the same location in the system but independent of each other. On the functions of the thermostat, you have been answered. 1 Like |

proxillin: when your radaitor burst, you meant to do a pressure test after mending it then also bleed the system to take of air bubbles aslong there is air bubbles in the cooling system the car overheats your did either the mending was not done properly or the system was never bleed since the thermo was removed your car is running cold Run your ac as normal dont change the fan as for engine being HIGH i dont know what you mean |
