PHCN And Filling Stations In Joint Collaboration? by charlesucheh(m): 1:40am On May 23, 2015
I wonder where this country is heading to!!! Simultaneously, power holding company of Nigeria and filling stations in my neighbourhood decided to frustrate our right to live.
If you experience power during the day for 2hrs straight, then it means the special grace of GOD is on your head, at thesame time you trek a long distance to get fuel for your generator, you'll end up not seeing a single filling station ready to sell for you, whilst they have, but are either saving their reserve for rush hour periods or just wouldn't want to sell at all. Alas!!! You eventually see a black market joint with long queues and after enquiring the price in which it's been sold you'll dust your sleepers and head back to the house you've been runnig from because you would have been told that a litre is been sold for 350 naira. HABA!!! I'll ask again, is the privatisation policy of PHCN helping or increasing the problems we face with POWER(electricity) or is the subsidy programme doing more harm than good?. The president seems to be like a child who seeks forgiveness and goes back to that sin. We all wait for the almighty May 29 to see if things will get better like we've always been known for saying.

How many do you think would have the capacity to reason and act up the way u thought they should have? The avenue for capacity building and development are constantly being mismanaged by those in government through their normal corrupt activities, why wouldn't they (the youth) follow suit? It can only be curtailed through a top- bottom approach and not the reverse. If our leaders can do their parts right, then their wouldn't be any form of retaliatory attitude from the buttom, until then, we are sure going to see more of the old practice.

Youth calling themselves to order and becoming useful shouldnt be influenced by politicians. Great men in business and I.T world neva waited for a good government but made a decision and transformed it into action. China is built more on the citizens success and not government. What am saying in essense is lets forget about this bad leaders for a moment and make ourselves great, rather than alowing them kill our dreams. U don't need dis government to find what you are good in, research about, gather necesary developing tools, create something that solves a problem, publicize, take note of demand, seek funds and finaly take over the society. By then d bad leaders would b unda ur foot.

I get where you're heading, the countries you mentioned are majorly developed societies whose government had made sure the enabling environment had beenn created eg electricity, good roads, water, affordable housing and even steady internet facilities. We aren't asking for all of these, we need jst Power(electricity) which has become a committee upon committee case yet had not been solved. Do you believe that if there's always steady power for 8 good hrs guaranteed, it will solve a whole load of problem for us? We can't jst empower ourselves on a blank forum, we need that environment to do so. Countries whose youth went through what you suggested are countries with such environment, that's the more reason why you get to see loads of Nigerian youths travelling abroad to develop and refine their potentials, why? Because the conditions to that at home aren't just favourable at all.

Why do we have to depend on the government for power when the solution lies in front of our feet. A 13year old boy 4rm sieralonne created a fueless generating set that renew its energy for cöntinuous work time without needing to be checked. He gathered materials 4rm Trash, and electronic scrap store. This boy had no formal education but was able to think it and create it. Many of us are gifted but use the government as excuse. Lets face the reality that we are the government, we think and build together. Fine d top government have a role to play but the time we over depend on them, we become useless. We keep complaining of unemployment, none of us want to become an entrepreneur and create job for pple. Things would get better when we learn to make it better

lol am not. Am not saying every1 shud create something out of trash but the situation of our country should motivate us and not make us weak. Take a look at arab countries, d rich build atleast 1 public structure making them develop fast and have a beautiful country. Most of their rich men dnt wait 4 d king b4 they construct roads and many other tins. We blacks are stingy, selfish, copycats, highly dependent, lazy, highly gifted and strong. Yes i said strong becoz we can endure d most painful suituation

PENGASSON, NUPENG are on strike so there is no gas for GENCOs that use gas to generate electricity. Only GENCOs on other sources such as hydro and wind are generating electricity. That's why power supply is bad.
