Ezenwammadu:It also means talking from both sides of his mouth. We now see the real evil people who, by all mean wanted GEJ out. They oppressed and forced him, GEJ out because he is from minority. The forces of this country and the spirit of GEJ, the God's sent, will handle you people. Devils. 2 Likes |

onatisi: You sef. U don't even understand the big picture. Imagine a scenario were PMS is supposed to be sold at 80 per litre normally while our gvt is telling us that the acqual price is 160 and and that they are subsidizing it thereby paying N80 while Nigerians pay N80. But in the actual sense, they are lotting/defrauding N80 per littre in any PMS you and I buy. that's why buhari is still amazed with this fraud called subsidy. Someone here is saying if subsidy is removed that PMS will cost btw N155 to N160 that it is the same thing in Ghana. How can u compare 6th Highest Producing Oil nation with Ghana that is not even the 100th? If u see evil my people, say it is evil and don't find a way around. it has been say that it only that's good peoples quiteness for evil to foster. 1 Like |

PassingShot:. Well, no need talking too much now. May 29th is almost here. Let's see if GMB will send messengers to every household before making executive decisions. Those of us who witnessed GMB's regime before would have a good idea. 1 Like |

Some part of Nigeria are fools. Now u remeber to support to remove fuel subsidy. The same way they rejected the national confab. I have the feelings that they enemies of Nigeria hated GEJ for been the first leader to do good. A fool when Jonathan is in power is a fool forever. Untill we tells ourselves the real truth in this country, Buhari coming cannot change Nigeria. Good morning Fools of Nigeria. 5 Likes |

AreaFada2: can you tell us what the fund generated from the partial removal was used for? One would expect a sane government to use the money to fix the local refineries to work to their maximum capacities or even build a new one but instead they can't account for the usage of the fund. 1 Like |

AdamsBashforth: GEJ was not right. Under GEJ, subsidy payments grew from 200 billion naira to 1.5 trillion naira. Oil Marketers grew from 30 to 300. Every one who knew someone in PPPRA got a license and started importing. Saraki then raised the alarm in the senate that led to the Presidency removing subsidy in order to stop the wastage. It was a desperate attempt at a bad situation. The solution should be to control subsidy payments and fix refineries. Not to place hardships on Nigerians |

oshyno:Oga, was there APC in 2012? For your info, the protest was mainly for the wrong timing of the removal. How will you instil sufferings on Nigerians on the 1st day of the year without prior notice and you expect people to be happy? |
Re: Remove Fuel Subsidy – Saraki Tells Buhari by onatisi(m): 2:32pm On May 26, 2015 |
blym4real:you still don't get it. Whatever they used the money for isn't the issue now, the point is nigeria would have been free forever from the grips of oil marketers, the price of fuel would have stabilized itself, there will be no more fuel scarcity and most of all gej would still have lost the election and buhari won't have to face the problem now all over again . Right now nigeria is back to square one again!!!!! 3 Likes |

Mine is, if they now push for subsidy removal, they don't need to doubt when we tell them Igbos reason in a far different way entirely compared to SWners and Northerners. As simple as that. Remove the subsidy pls. They will still suffer what they shifted just that they'v shown they lack intellect. 1 Like |

actually its you that makes no sense. if we had trusted GEJ to truly open the market, we would have caved in to removal of subsidy. we truly dodged a bullent because if we had allowed GEJ to remove subsidy then, thee marketers would have demanded N300 a litre cos they wouldnt allow anyone else to bring in the product. onatisi: |

atbu1983:I started hearing about fuel subsidy from d IBB regime although there had been fuel price increase as far back as d gowon regime. B4 1985, nigeria was self sufficient in terms refining petroleum products. During IBB era, a new means of making money was devised, removing FUEL SUBSIDY under d guise of SAP. By denying d refineries periodic maintenance, production dropped. This coupled with increasing demand 4 petroleum products, d govt at d time resorted 2 importation 2 augment local production. This obnoxious policy was inherited by successive govts cos of how "lucrative" it was. What our govts have done since then is 2 adjust price of products thru PPPRA in d name of DEREGULATION when in actual fact they are REGULATING. With deregulation, govt hands off fixing d price of petroleum products 4 operators and then licenses investors both local and foreign 2 refine and market. With this, products will b available at market price not PPPRA price. By-products especially cooking gas will b in abundance since its a "waste" producers will like 2 cash in on. Just like in telcoms were price of sim crashed from N35,000 2 N100 with beg, petroleum products will b like pure water. This is how 2 end fuel subsidy fraud |

Re: Remove Fuel Subsidy – Saraki Tells Buhari by Datanet: 2:35pm On May 26, 2015 |
AreaFada2: The subsidy payments cannot be removed just like that. Prices of fuel would go up to around N150. That would mean increased food, transportation etc. The NLC would request for increased minimum wage. Basically Nigerians will suffer. The Governemtn should do its job and control and monitor subsidy payments. It should review products actually imported and pay for the difference btw landing cost and actual selling price in the market. The Governement cannot and should not pass its responsibility on its people. It should do its job. |

PGEJ removed this crazy subsidy in Jan. 2012 and we frustrated the move and forced him to retain it. Today some of the people that were protesting on the streets and squares in Lagos are today singing the song of subsidy removal they opposed. In any case, it is better late than never. please read from my blog http://nelsonnwegbo..com/ |

Why would you not trust Buhari when both of you are Islam members and to make things worse, are all Fulani by ethnicity. Tell us who does know the Fulanis who are the only people who love no other person other than themselves? Buhari is one of the worse thieves. He indulge in corrupt practices that closed down PTF. His records are still in NNPC, when he bought tugs boat and small ships to comvey and sell our raw crude to outsiders. Buhari is a bloody thief. 2 Likes |

Beremx:What you don't seem to understand is that our opposition to removal of subsidy then had nothing whatsoever to do with the propriety of the action, it had everything to do with the custodians of the savings made from such removal. We didn't trust them then and still don't trust them now. Look at this, when there was partial removal (just N1.00 per litre went to PTF I think) under Abacha, just as we have now (N32.00 per litre going to SURE-P!!), we saw what Buhari did with the savings through PTF. Now can they show us what Jonathan or Kolade did with SURE-p Can you compare?? So if a trustworthy man like Buhari proposes such a policy, I'd go with it big time because I'm confident the monies realised from it would be used to provide us with better roads, hospitals and other infrastructures. We'd see exactly where the money is going to, unlike the gargantuan scam of sure-p we have under Jonathan and his gang. The stench was so bad Kolade even had to throw in the towel at some point. Under Buhari, I'm totally supportive of the policy and there's nothing hypocritical about it. |

Kingspin:it is a pollitical move by gej . Nigeria needs fuel, and the refineries aren't there ,which means we need the marketers . Let's see whether buhari will continue oil subsidy or remove it and allow the fuel scarcity to continue |

I still don't believe there was any subsidy in the first place.. If there was subsidy and it is important to remove it so as to create better refineries; then let it be removed . GEJ never told us he was removing subsidy for this reason and that is why we protested against it.. he only said it was because the government was borrowing to finance subsidy which according to us doesn't make sense. So if building refineries is the reason.. let GMB renove the damn subsidy.. *although I still doubt its existence. * |

There was no APC in 2012 and moreover, Nigerians were against the wrong timing and way in which the removal was done. It was even more like a Dictatorship kind of removal. blym4real:bro ,no sensible govt will repair those refineries, they will rather sell them to private investors . But no investor will invest in oil refinery in nigeria when govt is subsidizing imported fuel.this is what gej was saying then. He would have removed the subsidy and make the oil business lucrative for private investors |
