A former Nigerian Minister of Education says President Muhammadu Buhari’s inaugural speech is loaded with action which Nigerians will want to see how it will be translated into action.

Giving her opinion on the President’s speech, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, who is also the leader of the Bring Back Our Girls Campaign Organisation, told Channels Television that it was inspiring and loaded with action, which she said was one of the attributes of a good speech.

Her comments came just as President Buhari’s speech and decision to relocate the military command to Bornu State have continued to attract more criticisms.

Mrs Ezekwesili said all the attributes of a good speech could be found in Buhari’s presentation, but stressed that Nigerians would be expecting to see the President walk the talk.

In his speech on Friday, May 29, President Buhari said the most immediate challenge that Nigeria should tackle was Boko Haram’s insurgency.

“Progress has been made in recent weeks by our security forces but victory can not be achieved by basing the Command and Control Centre in Abuja. The command centre will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued. But we can not claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents.

“This government will do all it can to rescue them alive. Boko Haram is a typical example of small fires causing large fires. An eccentric and unorthodox preacher with a tiny following was given posthumous fame and following by his extra judicial murder at the hands of the police. Since then through official bungling, negligence, complacency or collusion Boko Haram became a terrifying force taking tens of thousands of lives and capturing several towns and villages covering swathes of Nigerian sovereign territory.

“Boko Haram is a mindless, godless group who are as far away from Islam as one can think of. At the end of the hostilities when the group is subdued the Government intends to commission a sociological study to determine its origins, remote and immediate causes of the movement, its sponsors, the international connexions to ensure that measures are taken to prevent a reccurrence of this evil. For now the Armed Forces will be fully charged with prosecuting the fight against Boko Haram,” he said.

permit me to add to this speech.. After overcoming the menace called Boko Haram, by the grace of God, we shall display Shekau's head for all to see b4 feeding it to the dogs..(That is if the dogs won't reject it) undecided

He will. Lets all be a little patient and supportive rather than causing unnecessary distractions.

God willing Nigeria will thank this administration even after they're gone.

Yes
Nigerians were patient with Jonathan and romanced him for a while before asking for results but buhari has no time. He should start working on hispromises already.
His speech is powerful but he has to walk the talk as Nigeria needs a total haul. Thumbs up madam Oby,you are someone who will stand by the truth at all times.

Jonathan signed the FOI bill into law less than 24hrs of taking office. He did not say "my government will sign it"...

Administration Must not suffer because a certain old man took power over 72 hours ago.

But Jonathan signed the FOI law just 24hours after taking office. He started the business of Governance immediately. What are you saying? Even Yaradua appointed IGP just less than 24hrs of taking office. Baba has no excuse

The persistent rumour Buhari sleeps an average 12 - 14hrs a day gained currency the many times he was caught sleeping at campaign venues. He would soon realise he's in the wrong job if his idea was to come and sleep all day at Aso Rock.
