HOME ABUJA – The Minority Leader of the 7th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the House’s speakership. In a mock primaries conducted by the leadership of the party in Abuja on Saturday, Gbajabiamila polled 154 votes. But this development happened amidst heavy protest by Gbajabiamila’s rival, Hon. Yakubu Dogara who staged a walk out from the premises with his supporters after he was announced to have polled 3 votes. Just 154 votes? Out of 218 APC members. The remaining APC members left will sure combine with the PDP members in the House of Rep to give Dogara the speakership. It happened in 2011 and it will repeat itself again. Just watch and see as the PDP thwart this plan with the APC rebels in the main election. 2 Likes |

Very commendable action by d APC. This is d way of democracy, not someone imposing a candidate and forcing others to endorse same. @least almost all elected APC members were allowed to freely chose their preferred speaker. These are legacies that would strengthen our democracy,all kudos to the non interference by PMB. |
