With the drama at the National Assembly today, I feel the PDP should have showed Saraki the real meaning of betrayal by nominating and electing a PDP senator as the senate President.

What do you think guys??

No, we are not selfish people. Give it to APC, they won majority. PDP earlier said they won't present a candidate for senate president or house speaker. They stood by their words

OP so that Tinubu and APC will add more to their political war-chest? No way bro! The common enemy is the APC and we have served them in the Senate. With time you will understand.

This isn't about being selfish. Saraki betrayed PDP in the past, as one of the main mover of the Baraje led PDP which ultimately led to their loss of federal power. I don't think PDP should embrace d guy as they had d greatest chance to finish him today.

Yes they would have won today but that will reunite the APC to easily impeach them. Impeachment is now difficult because both parties are involved and if committee posts are well shared, impeachment will be impossible. PDP or APC, Question is what is in it for Nigeria?

Nope. The Saraki group mightvturn against them and gang up with their colleagues to fight them. But wait o, APC don't have 2/3 majority so no impeachment fear oooo. It was a mistake indeed jare

OP is just putting up this thread to swing focus away from the intricacies ongoing in APC.

If they are unable to manage NASS leadership even when no opposition showed up, then we are in for the unknown.

This was my sentiments exactly! APC had less than 10 members in attendance. PDP would have easily hijacked the process, nominate Ekweremadu or David Mark and find suitable vices from other regions.

I guess they never thought of it because they had already agreed the Saraki/Ekweremadu ticket. But come to think of it, it would have been the greatest talking point in the history of Nigeria politics and would have been talked about in decades to come.

You mean colleagues that were far away waiting for PMB for a meeting he never scheduled in the first place? By the time the old men would have dragged their feet back, election would have ended.

Franzeez:

Exactly! Even an attempt to impeach will cause so much rancor that APC will be seen as not being capable of internal democracy; isn't that waht the PDP wants to achieve all these while?

My assertion is that the PDP let a golden opportunity slide them by. Nothing would have stopped them from hijacking the process and installing one of their own.

I really thought of that but since most of them are as clueless as that man from Bayelsa they struck to the money given to them as if they are the man that hid money in his hat.. Anyway since they are foolish for failing to betray that serial betrayal he shall betray them sooner or later.. Saraki betrayed her sister cos of a political son.. He betrayed pdp because of apc and now he has betrayed apc for the Senate presidency... I hate himmmmm....

A strategic move from PDP which APC failed to counter attack. Saraki and the like minds did the next logical thing.

APC had themselves to blame for not putting their house in order. It shows a certain gap- a cold war-power play between Tinubu and PMB. PDP will cash in cos they've smelt blood if such gap is not closed up soon enough before more damage is done.

I pray this is not a case of APC winning the battle and losing the war. Only time shall tell. I'm observing as a neutral.

haba this aint baby politics nau...you need to think!....PDP knows that doing so will make Saraki return back to the APC camp and work out ways to impeach any senate president from pdp..the best shot is bargaining for the post of the deputy senate president...congrats to the east. though the chips were down, they still managed to clinch something.
