Why was national security Meeting Held By Buhari Involve Only Northern Security? by peleson: 7:26am On Jun 11, 2015
Where is Ken Minimah the Chief of army staff?
Buhari held a national security meeting with only northern security chiefs says a lot about this administration! This is like the continuation of war on the south!
All appears not to be smooth between President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as it relates to national security matters.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met behind closed doors with some security chiefs to marshal the country’s plans that will be presented at a meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in Abuja on Thursday. Vice President Osinbajo was conspicuously absent at this meeting.

National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.); Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin attended the meeting held inside the Defence House in Abuja.
According to a state house correspondent who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on Wednesday, this is the second time Vice President Osinabjo will be “denied access” into a strategic security briefing with the President. “Normally, the Vice President should be part of these inauguarl security briefings because he is the second in command and will deputise for the President in his absence. His absence two times in a row is not healthy at this early stage of their working relationship. We don’t actually know what is going on”, the source said.

Last week Wednesday, June 3rd 2015, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was reportedly ‘locked out’ of President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with the National Security Adviser on the orders of President Buhari. According to reports, Vice-President Osinbajo was refused ‘security clearance’ to attend the meeting as a result of security concerns by the Commander-in-Chief allegedly over what he described as a “very sensitive meeting.”

Permanent Secretary at Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu briefed State House correspondents at the end of today’s meeting, which lasted less more than two hours.

He said they discussed issues relating to the operationalisation of the Multinational Joint Task Force and the contributions of each member state.

He said the President, at the meeting, reiterated his desire to end insurgency in the country and the region in shortest possible time.

Aliyu said, “We came to brief Mr. President on the meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

President Buhari appears not to be the only one undermining the office of the Vice President. Newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki shunned a truce meeting called on Monday by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Saraki boycotted the meeting after reportedly telling party leaders that as a former governor he could not attend a meeting summoned by a ‘mere commissioner’, referring to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, whose previous public office was as Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State.

The office of the Vp in a country like Nigeria is more or less a "sit down look office". I believe Osibanjo and Tinubu were well aware of that fact but loosing the senate president is more painful because because in reality, you have nothing. He should keep looking till he is handed something to do. Campaign season is over. Its reality and governance now. I just hope they will carry the english speaking politician pastor along for the greater good of Nigerians. If they don't, then they must be planning something fishy.

Buhari can deliver in terms of providing projects and services and though he is nowhere totally clean, he is not so brazenly corrupt as say Babangida, Danjuma or Obasanjo. But that is where the good side ends. My major worry about Buhari has always been with his very parochial readings of the Nigerian society. He is fanatically pro-north and seems desperate to assume the empty position of the new sarduana of sokoto than the position of the president of the whole Nigeria. If you read carefully, he travelled to Niger and Chad wih an entourage almost totally dominated by core northerners! He went to Germanys G8 with a mix of northern and south western politicians neglecting political leaders from other areas and he was so comfortable with that. Jonathan would never do so even wih his much villified religious pilgrimages to Isreal. Buhari is now arranging security council meeting with onl 100% northerners. Tha should worry. But here will be people here who will tell you to overlook this. The same wa they told us to overlook his segregaional fight against corruption in the 80s and his lopsided PTF projects that were concentrated in the north at the expense of the eastern sates that provided the funds.

this is because BOKO HARAM is agenda of the north to make GEJ government ungovernable thereby returning power to the North.now the mission is accomplished the unlettered man from daura is trying to ends what he started period.so the essence of denying the VP access is to cover every thing up.
