‘PDP, Others Have No Right To Rush Buhari On Appointments’ by DONSMITH123(m): 10:05am On Jul 01, 2015
A lecturer at the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Malam Nuhu Ramalan, yesterday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no moral or legal right to rush President Muhammadu Buhari in appointing ministers and other officials.

Ramalan, who is the head of political science department of the university, said if what happened in 1999 and 2007 is anything to go
by, then “PDP has no right to give President Buhari ultimatum on appointment of ministers”.
He said: “Recall what happened in 1999 when General Obasanjo was elected president under the platform of the PDP. Obasanjo appointed his ministers in July. The same thing happened when Yar’adua, a PDP member, was elected president in 2007. Then what is PDP trying to tell us? This is politics of deceit. PDP was the one that set up the antecedent of delaying ministerial appointments, why is the party turning around to pressurize President Buhari? The mess that this country is in now deserves caution. No right thinking person would rush into taking decisions in this type of situation”.
He added: “And for any programme to succeed, there is need for serious planning. I am sure if Buhari makes appointments now and turns around to sack non performing appointees, PDP would be the first to attack him. I was also surprised that people like Balarabe Musa are accusing Buhari of delaying appointments. Perhaps, Balarabe Musa has forgotten that when he was elected governor of the old Kaduna State, he worked for almost a year without commissioners”.

Thank you so much Malam Ramala.
Haters have been shouting PMB appoints his ministers forgetting that previous administrations didn't do theirs in haste.
Well, people with short memories are always the ones who shout most and that lack of sound memory is why they fail in everything and the case of PDP comes to mind.
In 2011, it took GEJ six weeks to appoint his ministers and they have forgotten that too just because they like preaching hate.
Nigeria is in a precarious situation right now and deserves all the caution that is needed to steer her out of the mess.

No one is giving any ultimatum; the Buhari administration lacks a well defined plan for the country. He has to carry nigerians on his plans; if he doesn't want to appoint ministers, he should clearly state that; no one will crucify him for that. Keeping mute will only make people talk more.

President Buhari need to be cautious. He should not be in a hurry to appoint his ministers. The business of governance, at this stage, can be carried out without ministers. The permanent secretaries, who are experts in their various ministries, can do the work of ministers pending when Buhari sends his ministerial nominee list to the Senate.

God bless the President.

The Federal executive Council has a clearly spelt out functions in the Constitution.... It's illegal to run a Government without constituting the the Federal executive Council.
As it stands there is no executive arm of government at the moment..... No other body can perform the functions of the Federal executive Council.
The Daura President is an illiterate so he won't know these things.
