Nigerian Government Cuts Electricity Tariff By 50%

The Nigerian government has announced a reduction in electricity tariffs by half.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission on Wednesday announced the immediate review of electricity tariffs by about 50 per cent.
The Chairman of the Commission, Sam Amadi, who announced the review in Abuja, said the reduction, which takes effect from the end of March, followed the regulatory agency’s decision to remove collection losses from customer tariff under the multi-year tariff order.

I can authoritatively tell you this was another Jonathan's re-election bid scam. As at 12th June this year, the electricity tarrif remained the same as can be seen in the pic attached.

For more than a year, I have been buying at N13.21 per kWh for my folks. According to this report, from May 1st, we are expected to pay half of what we pay per KWh.

How come charges still remain the same till now?

The idea was Gej's idea to ensure Nigerians pay less for electricity, however there were opposition from stake holders such that the case went to court and was there till he left. Buhari suppose to effect this because governance is a continuum. Therefore hold Buhari / court for the delay

Are u deliberately being mischievous to defend a renowned scammer or what? Can u provide a link to substantiate this....

And also the court order to suspend the action already announced to take effect from end of March.

The only way to stop this menace is to remove the NERC boss. The man is afraid of the stakeholders and does not want to implement what have been agreed.

The fixed charges should have been removed by now and the reduction implemented
