FG is right in this matter. Elected LG chairmen should be allow to exhaust their right appeal. Wike was wrong in a appointing administrators.

Btw
People should stop seeing everything as politics as being between APC and PDP or Wike and Amaechi as in this case. Let's look at issues objectively.

PDP did not approach the Court to stop RSIEC but to stop INEC from releasing the Voters Register to RSIEC (I hope this answers your jurisdiction question). APC quickly challenged the court's jurisdiction in the court of appeal to stall the case.

The court ruled that the "Status quo ante" be maintained. A rule RSIEC disobeyed thereby making the whole election illegal.

Even if the Federal High Court doesn't have jurisdiction, that's not enough reason for RSIEC to disobey the court.

Why didnt the Federal High Court strike out the matter when the Jurisdiction of the Court was challenged? Any person concerned with such matters know that the purpose of going to that Court is the order to maintain the "status que ante bellum". The Judge ought to had refrained going deeply into a matter it has no Jurisdiction. Anyways Wike should approach the Federal High Court again.

Some people here are novice and sentimental.
What the judge did is abusive to judicial process. When the other party has appealed his first ruling @ the appeal Court instead of him to wait as the law states he further delivered another judgement.
What a corrupt judge?

that status quo ante means 'inec do not release the voters' register to risec', it does not mean 'risec, do not conduct local government elections'

If INEC didn't release voters register to RSIEC, what did RSIEC use to conduct the election.. Another Illegality..

The court of Appeal hasn't ruled against the court in the matter of Jurisdiction. Even if it does, the Court won't strike out the case. it'll rather transfer it to the state high court.

The court adjourned and asked all parties to maintain "status quo ante" pending the conclusion of the jurisdiction suit. But RSIEC disobeyed the court.

I agree with you that the only reason PDP went to court was to stall the election. And they achieved it with the help of APC's jurisdiction suit.

If APC had pursued a quick resolution of the case, maybe the court would've ruled in their favour.

Wike don't need the court right now.. By Monday, the policemen will leave the LG councils

there is no law in the electoral act which makes it mandatory for inec to give register to risec for an election to be conducted. The case before the court had nothing to do with where or when risec got the voters ' register. They could have had a copy all this while, they could have gotten the voters register from Abuja. No law says that the criminal gesilia kan' s rivers state inec must be the one to give them the register.

at least dia was no court order stopping d election n all other parties participated. In Rivers own only APC was involved and d court said don't. But in any case was what Obi did d right thing?

Court did not order rivsiec not to go on with the election, what PDP went to court to challenged is for inec not to release the voters register?

The issue of compliance with Rivers State Laws lies within the Jurisdiction of the High Court of Rivers State or the Local Government Election Tribunal.

The court of Appeal hasn't ruled against the court in the matter of Jurisdiction. Even if it does, the Court won't strike out the case. it'll rather transfer it to the state high court.

Why did the Judge not do that. At least we all know that the Judges read the processes in the chambers before hearing counsel in court.

The court adjourned and asked all parties to maintain "status quo ante" pending the conclusion of the jurisdiction suit. But RSIEC disobeyed the court.

Check out this excerpt from the link below

We are to compile, maintain and update on continuous bases a register of voters which also by virtue of section 15, we are
also obliged by law to give to political parties who apply to the commission after the payment of the pre-requisite fee, we give them the certified true copy.

In all the 36 states of the federation with respect to local government election, SIECs are expected to liase with INEC state offices to collect the certified true copies of the register for the purpose of elections.

Police must vacate all the council secretariats within allowable time else it will face a fierce protest from the people of Rivers State.

Amaechi is in on the brink!

Which rivers people? Which protest?
I can imagine how u and wikes nerves and eyes sockets are trying to bulge out. Parole don change. grin
U lot fought amaechi and told him it was foolish to fight federal might, don't u think it's also applicable also here?
Karma surely is a Bittch. General of common sense revolution remains a force to be reckoned with in rivers no doubt. grin

which gov in Nigeria has done as u wished. APC govs even sack elected chairmen without any court order.

Then he should rather sack them as done by the so called APC Govs, rather than hiding under a kangaroo court judgment. And that was why I said "what is the difference?". Read my post well my friend.
