I had my first "wet" dream almost a decade before I watched my first adult scene movie. Porn was anathema to me and I had never seen two people kiss in real life talk less of have full blown sex before. It always remains a mystery to me how my brain was able to subconsciously teach me about something I had no prioir knowledge of, and in vivid detail too grin

Seriously though dont you find it mysterious the things we see and do in dreams? Visiting places you have never been to, doing things you have no experience of doing in this life, eating things you have never eaten and you know exactly what it tastes like? I have been a soldier at war in WW2, I dont know why I think it was WW2 but i am totally convinced it was. I have flown (Yes flown) to far countries and distant lands...and these are the dreams I remember for there are countless ones I have experienced that I wake up in the morning and the dream disintegrates like a pollen flower blown away in the wind, never to be recovered or recalled no matter how hard I try to do so.

I was soliloquising recently and I thought, what if those dreams are actually visitations to eternal life? What if every night when we think we go to sleep, we actually wake up in our 'real' lives in eternity and interact with our friends and have recall past experiences only to have a veil of forgetfullness drawn over our minds the moment we 'wake up' to this reality?

What if death is like that, the final sleep, where we finally enter our 'dreams' and never come out, realising that what we thought was life was just a passing phase, a test of sorts, and we finally wake up from 'life' realising that the true meaningful life is out there beyond the mystery of our dreams?

The distillation of crude oil to its various components through which we get our fuel, gas, kerosene etc was made possible through the aromatization of the benzene ring. For a long time, chemists battled with the structure of the benzene ring so as to figure out how it works.
The mystery was eventually solved by August Kekule who said he discovered the structure of the benzene ring after having a dream of atoms dancing around in a circle until they formed a snake swallowing its own tail.

Kekule claims that he stopped writing and dozed off to sleep. He saw atoms whirling and dancing before his eyes. The atoms then began to reassemble themselves into long rows that seemed to move about in a snake-like motion. As he watched the snake dance, the vision progressed until the snake formed itself into an image.

Was this just mere coincidence or did Kekule's higher self assist him in solving the riddle of the benzene ring?

I can categorically tell u that dream is one of the wierdest thing i ve experinced or am experiencing in this world. Hard to interprete and cannot be traced.

How do u explain a dream of me beign in my school and right behind the school was my house. Or in a dream i was walking with my friend. Suddenly a convoy of motorcycles were coming right before us with a flag( dont knw the colour nor the emblem, but my mind told me its biafrn flag but not sure thoor).
Suddenly every person on the street bowed down on sighting them, i was hesitating to bow but i later bowed down late after every on must have bowed.

Guess what, one guy riding the motocycle shot a bullet right inside my brain probably cos he saw mee bowed down lately. Suddenly, every where was dark in my mind, but i later woke upafter experincing darkness and guess what, i didnt feel any thing or hole in my forehead. I only felt reddish substance....... What ever happend again, i cant explain....

Then i woke up.

But nonthless, i dont value dreams thoor. But they re wird to me

When I was in JSS2(boarding house), I had a dream that my dad's driver came to pick me up from the hostel. He went to the admin office first to get me an exeat. The day was a Wednesday. He then came to pick me of from the hostel and then we zoomed off in my dad's Benz 280, it was blue.

While we were in the car, sensing that something was wrong, I asked him why he had come to pick me up and he said, "your dad sent me to pick you up". I then asked, "why exactly, is he dead?". He just laughed and said, "no" then he laughed and said "you'll know the reason why, when we get home".

When we got home, I ran upstairs into my dad's room and there he was lying down. Dead. I stared at him for a while and then walked over to the bed, shook him and said, "daddy, stop playing and open your eyes". He opened his eyes and we both laughed.

The next weekend, on a saturday, my dad and his driver came to visit me in school.when I saw him, he was looking really sick(he's diabetic). We went into the hostel's canteen and that was when he told me that he had swallowed 100 tablets of valium 5, in an apparent suicide attempt. According to him, he instructed each of his staff ie the driver, gateman, secretary, house help to buy him packets of valium 5 from different pharmacies in the area under the guise that he was going to need them for a trip.

He took them all and passed out. He was unconscious for 3 days and woke up on wednesday, the same day I had the dream

I believe that the subconscious sometimes tends to pass back some information we've downloaded, a deep thought, a solution to a problem visually via our dreams. I've had dreams where I see myself attending to some business problem or when I'm doing artwork. I've shared this experience with a fellow artist and he also said he had experienced such dreams

[b]Dreams are just illusionary projection by the brain

. . .it can occur on a light scale during the first REM of sleep (the first stage of sleep) and also the 2nd REM but it cannot occur during the 3rd REM because this is the stage of sleep we call deep sleep, your body practically is shut down and so is your brain, nobody snores at this stage and it will be harder to wake you up.

Because the brain is literally shut down at 3rd REM it is impossible to dream because the brain is in charge of this feat.
The 4th REM can be filled with dreams afterwards.

The same mechanism your brain uses when you think and formulate events and things in your head is exactly the same method it uses to induce dreams while you sleep.
Its just an illusionary projection by the brain which in fact we know controls all the activities in the body.

Humans are capable of recognizing similar events and actions, that is why people are able to recognize shapes in stars and some recognize jesus face on a piece of toast or allah on a piece of meat.

Same way this happens is exactly the same way people recognize actions and events that may have been dreamt. . . There is nothing Ominous about sleep

@johnnydonn,

Yeah I know about REM sleep and EEG measurements. But what can you say about the fella who dreamed about his father's suicide attempt? What about kekule's revelation of the benzene ring? He was very explicit in his explanation of the dream even though scientists are now retrospectively trying to debunk it, claiming he got the idea from some other chemist....so why didn't this chemist speak up and gain the glory of benzene ring aromatisation for himself?

If dreams are a replica of our day to day activities like u said then how come I have dreamed about flying when I have never flown before?

What do you have to say about the man who wrote on the titanic 10yrs or so before it was even concieved that such a ship could be built yet alone sink in the precise same way the titanic sunk? Coincidence?

Anyone who pah-pahs such overwhelming evidence in my opinion is either afraid of the unknown or being selectively blind.

P.s no one is talking about dreams being ominous here. We are not discussing spirit husband or whatnot.

Throughout my teenage years, dreams have not been working for me, cause I always get the opposite of what I wish for. I couldn't help Stop being conscious and that makes the dreams subject to manipulation. I could fly through the Atlantic , I could beat a thousand madafakas and I could force my self to wake up if the opposition seem stronger.

After all the tales have been hearing, I want to believe there are more to dreams than just the play out of imaginations.
Afterall, I've had my fair share of the supernatural - intuition.

So some things works according to your believe.

Thinking out of the box,i like this. I only have this kind of experience when i read a book especially the one with vivid descriptions,i would see myself in a location i was really interested in while reading the book or if its a novel i would see myself acting out a character.
