Electricity Supply Slides to 3,573 MegawattsElectricity supply in the country has plunged from 3,700 megawatts to 3,573 megawatts as a result of reduction in rainfall, among other factors.

Presidential Task Force on Power, PTFP, data which was released over the weekend said out of 3,662.48mw generated, 3,573mw was supplied, conserving the balance to stabilize the system.

The PTFP indicated that the electricity supplied was not sufficient as the nation’s peak demand forecast stood at 12,800mw.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Sam Amadi has said that the Commission will ensure electricity customers pay only efficient tariff.

The Commission had earlier in 2015, put collection loss at zero value, unless a distribution company makes case for its justification.

Amadi said that the Commission questioned the framework that led to huge collection losses passed to electricity consumers, moving against it because it contravened the international best practice.

That's okay. We shall see how far when dry season comes.

Meanwhile let GMB pump money to NLNG train 2 and 3 and the TSGP and build 2 or 3 gas plants up north. Let gas flow, let's make money. grin

Buhari's Government hasn't added a single megawatt to the National grid so this begs the question, who was sabotaging power supply under GEJ's government?

->This is the more reason we need to build more dams, and they should be built in areas with sufficient water like the states close to the Atlantic ocean e.g Lagos, Rivers etc.
->Dams are more reliable than gas plant, in that they are not easily sabotaged or vandalized like the later.
