naijainfogalery:Lies, Most Nigerian business have lived more than 10 years without technology, while some so called technology survey business are dead. @OP to sell a website to your client, you must emphasize efficiency and cost cutting. I always let my clients see the business efficiency side of owning a website, this way we can reduce unnecessary cost in that business. 1 Like |

voltron: You are very correct. First, as a biz man i want to know the value that the so-called website will add to my biz, i will also be more interested in cost cutting as an entrepreneur and the strength that will also be added to my brand. And the fact is that as a web site vendor or developer, you cant convince a biz owner if you do not understand his biz needs. Its not just about "bring money and get a website" and you expect them to start pouring out the thousands. I think with these and more, investor wouldn't mind diving the site project proposal except if the company is not financially buoyant. robminds.com |

I don't usually comment on threads but i find this topic very interesting. to be frank most nigerians don't know the benefit of having a website or a blog ie online PRESENCE. something happened few years back. as a domain investor i used to buy park and sell domain names, there was a time i approached a popular radio comedian asking him to buy one of my domain names very similar to his nickname. i even adviced him to build a website where he will be promoting his albums but to my amazement the guy was thinking i want to scam him. so i went to afternic.com listed the domain for sale and within a short time that same domain was sold for $550 USD. for those that may be asking why am i talking about domain names yes you will first have a domain name before building a website and the domain name must be properly selected to reflect the nature of your business. and that's a big avenue to make money. for more information about buying and selling of domain names visit www.jelinco.com 1 Like 1 Share |

charlsecy:dat is where u are getting it wrong. With ur statement, u just limited ur market to alaba. Have you ever considered those who can not get to alaba to buy ur products. With a website, they can other online and pay u wen you deliver the products to them. What about SLOT in computer village, ikeja. Dey are the most popular in computer village and yet they have a website and do deliver to those who can not go to computer village 1 Like |

Well, like someone said not all businesses requires website. Some blv they cant get money from it while they will be spending to maintain it. And bloggers can just gain from this by helping them to advertise their business on their blog like am currently doing for schools now on my own blog. Check the web version of http://bamisepeters..com and check placement of adverts of schools on my blog. But all you need do is to be bold to convince the business owners of wat your blog is capable of doing for their business since all they want is to get more customers and money. |

PulseWeb: The highlighted is so true. Sometimes you go there and you even see the shop owner dozing in his store. At that rate one wonders how they manage to break even. If he had a functional website, he'd be busy fulfilling orders on the phone or online rather than sleeping. 1 Like |

I've practically avoided web designers/developers because I learnt most of you folks are opportunists who increased fees clandestinely, maintenance fees in particular just because you have access to your clients official virtual office. I do not think I'm ready to commit a well crafted idea into the hands of an opportunist who can wake up someday to demand N10m or have my website seized/closed. We all know how (we) Nigerians love to take advantage of one another. Until we change our ways, we'll always advise well funded biz owners to seek help from India. No room for blackmails. I love people who stick with terms and agreements. Let your N10 be N10. Do not generate miscellaneous fees from your greedy imaginations (99% of Nigerians will do this when biz start booming; only few can be trusted). |
