Its not a big deal. Life isn't always perfect, and it doesn't matter who meets who poor. If the lady loves him, its enough for her to help him find his feet. But I have two fears in situations like this.
1) The guy may get comfortable and turn the lady to a source of income instead of taking all she's doing as a springboard to push himself forward.

2) He becomes overly sensitive and perceives everything she does or says wrong as "pride".

While dating my wife, she did that and more.

It was very difficult taking things from her but she managed to improve the quality of life that I lived through her unconditional dedication. Today, we are both better for it.

People see me doing awkward things for my wife today without understanding the foundation of sacrifice she has laid.

its my flatmate's bf's 21st today and she got him Jordans. You have just reminded me i have to say hbd to him. He has been celebrating his bday since the beginning of the week like a little girl grin
