Hmmm... Before getting MBA, you must have had relevant experience in your area of specialization, so getting an MBA after say 4-5 years is cool

Well i think the two is good and a MUST. It depends on your discipline i think MSc. Is important if you want to go into lecturing and as a career person and with professional certifications you earn more money than Msc. I'll go for professional certifications first and later Msc. You didnt mention Vocational skills(It is a MUST you acquire a vocational skill too) it is one of it even language skills. Having a second language is a plus.

It all depend on which career path you wish to tread. Academic or professional? If academic, pls go for ur Msc, afterwards, PhD. But if professional path, pls go for ur professional courses but that doesn't preclude the fact that you would still need your masters when you attain a certain level on the rung. As for me, I prefer being in the class.

A second language is one area many do not pay attention to.With a second language, your limit is less and your chances more...you can go anywhere, yes! anywhere.
Nigerian students have to start considering this aspect Cus day by day,it keeps getting tough and only an extra weapon can sustain you.

If you already have a Bsc and Msc in Architecture nko, what professional course can u undertake?

What prof course can boost the persons CV.

Nb.. Am asking because Msc is what an aspiring architect must do first inorder to bcome a chartered architect.

I prefer professional courses because that makes you self employed. I'm a chartered administrator with license from the chartered institute of administration and now I consult for many companies for fees even when I'm a civil servant. If I retired I go into full consultancy.

both are irrelevant if you've not found purpose in life.

find purpose, decision on either or neither can be made

I notice that most people who are in support of Masters degree are of the opinion that it would mostly lead to a career as a lecturer. It is unfortunate that people are not aware of other vast opportunities this would bring. Take for instance the area of research, because other countries are encouraging research in various fields, they seem to be much ahead in terms of technological development. Until there is a paradigm shift in the way students are prepared to face the real world, the labor market would continue to be saturated with graduates whose only possession is an A4 paper certificate. Research puts other countries ahead, be it in medicine, agriculture, technology etc. Why not we learn from what there are doing? Most universities in the western world have gradually become research institutions. There are coming up with innovative way of tackling human problems on daily bases. In conclusion, pursuing a Masters degree should not just be seen as a pathway to lecturing job alone.

When you don't understand something, just keep quiet instead of displaying ignorance.

EAT THAT FROG is the title of a book that talks about 21 ways to stop procrastinating and get more done in less time.

I hope you now understand what Raikishi was talking about.

Hey buddy, it depends on your career path, for business or finance related stuffs, professional courses, for engineering/science/ and some other social courses, masters.
very fallacious. Of what use is an M.sc foreign or local(are you the only one?) to an establishment when an engineer can do nothing(no experience, no skills). If it's all about money making, there are so many who can't abandon their means of comfortable living to get M.sc(to hell with such Masters, or do you want to lecture?) There's time for everything, Masters should not be so over hyped as the #1 on 2do list.

I appreciate the good work done here.

I graduated with 2.2 from futo in 2014, finished my nysc service last year. Had a plan with my Father to travel to Australia immediately after my service for my post graduate study with the Main objective of gaining a better prospects and having many options of employability because I can get a work permit to work at least 2 years after the program, where by I can apply for permanent residence.

But the plan was paused due to devaluing of Naira which makes the migration pursuit a problem.
So I was asked to wait.

Now, while I am waiting and applying for jobs my dad suggested I start apply for masters here in Nigeria which I do fancy and not motivated to do because of the current situation of de country and no guarantee of post work opportunity.
I had a different view of going for professional courses like to start with Nebosh, but he refuses to accept my decision with the reason that I must choose what he commands.

I am. Devastated by this current situation that I have decided to ask in order to really know the best path or clear my doubts if I am not making de right decision of preferring a professional course than going through the stress of Nigerian education system once more that I have forbidden never to embark on unless I am Already working.

Thank u
