The suspicion bedevilling President Muhammadu Buhari's administration and the business community yesterday took another dimension, as Lagos lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN) on Monday revealed that the president is under pressure by some All Progressives Congress (APC) members to protect the interest of the ruling and business elite in the country.

Falana made the call at the launch of a book by former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary, Dr Musa Babayo, titled: 'Economic Diplomacy and Nigeria's Foreign Policy'

He stated that such pressure was detrimental to the overall interest of Nigerians and the APC change agenda.

He cited the recent snub some of the business class received from the president during the US visit, frowning on any move that will derail the government.

He said: "The adoption of neo-liberal economic policies by the federal government has continued to promote poverty among the generality of Nigerians despite the abundant resources of our country. Out of the population of about 150 million, not less than 100 million are living below the poverty line.

"The national planning has been abandoned for market forces by those who control our country, and what is going on now, even from the APC, there are people that are mounting pressure on President Buhari to continue to run the economy of Nigeria in the interest of a few people and in the personal minority interest of captains of industry without industry.”

There is no question that PMB will face serious pressure to continue with business as usual but Nigerians reposed enormous trust in the man and he should not let them down by bowing to their pressure.

I am confident of Buhari to bring sanity into governance in Nigeria and especially reduce corrupt practices to the minimum BUT if he fails in this regard, history will not be kind to him as well.

note: not only Atiku, there is Perkins etc.

Dangote will ensure he remains the major distributor of cement, that is how many cement factories were shut down eg, Eagle cement, ibeto cement etc.

petroleum inporters eg Oando owned by Tinubu, will ensure that we don't have refineries working at full capacity, so that his company can benefit from subsidies, and sales of fuels.

I have said it before, the only thing that can move this country forward is 1- ) a patriotic military ruler, willing to kill and jail all theses looters and economic vampires, (2)- a peaceful populist revolution by the Nigerian people, (3) operating a true federal system where all states control their wealth. if not even Jesus Christ and Mohammed would fail in leadership position in this useless country.

Thats the exact reason PDP and dia co sponsors ar releasing statements everyday. PMB is realy clearing dia doubts. Let the President do what he likes. This country is so full of confused people. Today the say bring credible ppl, tomorow Dele momodu and ko wil say bring corrupt ppl.. Wats all this? Let the President do his job.
