But alas, it didn't happened that way coz the NCNC (an Igbo Party) ended up forging an alliance with the Northern NPC which then produced a Tafawa Balewa as Prime Minister and Zik as President, while Awo's AG went into opposition. The rest they say is history. Since then up until the recent APC, the Yorubas have been in opposition (they even opposed OBJ, remember?). While the igbos have also had their share of power at the centre both before and after the civil war (think Shagari/Ekwueme and GEJ eras), even more so than the Yorubas.
