Why do some people think that Republic of Biafra constitute only the Igbo tribe?
Is it an oversight or just pure ignorance?

And by the way, why should there be a war before the Biafran nation can secede and chart it own course, from a country that claims to be practicing Democracy?

Please, go to www.change.org search for the key word "Biafra", sign and share the Petition.

Thanks for your assistance.

Most of the people that worked for the sovereignty of Nigeria are Biafrans. Did they fight and die to get Independence for Nigeria?

Frustration and anger does no good. Even the scriptures made it clear.

Many Biafra agitant Exclude those living in other part of the Country as if they would be accommodated should they return home. These people in other part of the country are these 40,000 people you are talking of.

Currently, the Biafrans outside Biafra land are not in thousands but millions. When they make such a useless move for war and fail, they will cry more than they have done because the blood of these people would be on their head not on Nigeria.

If Biafrans see themselves as slaves which is unlikely, they should design a master plan and work for their freedom. You can't fight for freedom. It can only be given. Those that do are only showing their pride which most atimes get crushed easily.

The SW formed a government with Northern Nigeria with a plan/agreement. When it was bridged, they fought for it and they get what they want. What plan/agreement do we have or are we ready to make with Nigeria so that we can use that as a focus point when fighting for our right?

Just Nothing and Nothing.

Many people need to move out of stagnant water. Being home bound has made us stagnant.
Are you for real?...you said you don't fight for freedom but freedom is freely given, I beg to disagree with you Mr man, for your information freedom is not freely given to the oppressed by the oppressor, but the oppressed will demand his freedom from the oppressor,.... mind you demand is not beg but force

Of course they fought and died to get indepedence from Nigeria. One thing you have to understand about Nigeria is that it was not created by the consent of the people but by the superior Fire-power of the British. It is still kept together by force of arms which is why is not a country in the real sense but a "prison". Biafrans have always fought for their freedom from Nigeria. The Igbos fought the "Ekumeku war" against the British. The Ijaws fought the "Akasa/Nembe war" against the British. We all know about the Biafran war. All these armed struggles were a manifestation that Biafrans have long rejected the notion of "Nigeria". Yes it is true that Biafrans and indeed Igbos have spread out all over Nigeria and indeed, the world. When we get Biafra, they will all be encouraged to return home and build their new nation. Those who do not wish to return because they are doing well where they are will be encouraged to make the best of it. Should Nigeria ask Biafrans to go, well, the world is a big place and Nigeria is just a small space on the world map. The new Biafra will apply to join ECOWAS anyway so that any Biafran will be able to travel and live anywhere they like in West-Africa, including Nigeria, without needing a Visa. Nobody wants war, I would rather if Biafra comes through peaceful means but history tells me that it won't be easy so we must prepare for any eventuality. During the Biafran war, Ojukwu told Gowon many times that instead continuing with war and many people dying, he (Gowon) should agree to UN backed referendum in the eastern region so that the people can decide for themselves if the want Nigeria or Biafra. Gowon refused and millions needlessly died to uphold a "white mans creation". Even Britain that created Nigeria granted one of its constituent parts a referendum last year, there was no noise. But if you ask the gap toothed Daura cattle rearer to give the SE/SS people the same referendum to decide their fate and avert war, he will tell you that "Lord Lugard" is God himself that made Nigeria and we have no right to self determination. Biafra is coming, it will be up to Nigeria to decide if it comes peacefully or violently, but it will surely come.

No. Demand is not a force. If Biafra is a commodity that we are demanding from Nigeria, it is left for Nigeria to sell or not to sell it.

One thing we need to know is that Biafra is not in the hands of Nigeria. Nigeria does not have the power to create an independent country out of it self even if they want to. There is a world body for that who will accept the country and their currency.

If we want Biafra, we should demand it from the appropriate authority and not Nigeria because Nigeria is not going to give it to you.

How do you place your demand?
First the council of Igbo Traditional Rulers need to be approached and then make them take a stand on the issue.
They would have to write a letter to the Governors of the Region, Nigeria, ECOWAS, AU and UN about their interest for selfgovernance while highlighting those issues that you may consider as atrocities to the Igbo race. They may ask Nigeria and the Biafrans to go and discuss it again but they will grant Biafra Independence if there is no acceptable grounds between the two.

But can that happen? It is likely impossible since the agitators are not using their heads.

If there is anyone Biafrans should be angry with is the Council of traditional Rulers that are under the payroll of the Nigerian Government. They have become toothless Dog over fed with puppy food.

Because Nigeria need to make a statement about it position. Biafrans should stay out of trouble so that they would have a case to present against Nigeria, else, they are just like the insurgents that would be wiped out soon.

Its because non ever used diplomacy. Their anger never gave them chance to make the right decision.

I saw on twitter the other day on twitter people tagging US senators about the Aba issue. That is very poor of us.
We should organize ourselves and take the appropriate step in letter writing. But first, we need to put the council of traditional rulers afront. they are the recognized institutions that can champion the course.

Before then do something good for Nigeria.
