The statement issued by Aso Rock is not stating anything remarkable and thus does not warrant making the news.

This is typical of this administrations style to deflect attention or critism with silly Rhetrioc of fighting corruption where there is none.

The fact remains that without a finance minister, the auditor general requires Buhari's approval to pay salaries.

Buhari travelled to Cameroun and only returned late on Thursday.

The next day Friday being a Muslim holiday, Buhari never bothered going to work.

This is why federal workers including the military are still being owed.

All these useless headlines with no meaning is just meant to give the impression that this administration is working behind the scenes when it is very obvious they are not.

all of you complainin that buhari is actin slowly... you seem to forget that your only alternative for president was a man that did not act at all, a man whose 6 years did not affect the day to day lives of averge Nigerians positively. Atleast, since may 29, if there is one thing I can say, it's that electricity has greatly improved. I have been using the same 20 litres keg of fuel since June, e neva finish. Kaduna, ph and warri refineries have also improved without fuel prices going up.
It's not even up to 6 months yet. It took years for naija to enter this mess, y'all want him to deliver a greater Nigeria in 6 months?
If all he does is make sure that our refineries are working and we have electricity like I am enjoying these days, it's still better than what GEJ accomplished in 6 yrs. Let's all be realistic here.

That's the problem with so many of you on Nairaland. You rush to make comments when you have absolutely no knowledge about the subject matter. The Auditor general audits the accounts of the federal government and the federation account. He has nothing to do with salary payment or any federal government payment whatsoever. The IPPIS salary platform is domiciled at the office of the Accountant General and not Auditor general. Try and understand the difference.

PMB has good intentions, but he seems to live in cuckooland. How can you mandate a 24-hour response to audit queries? Audit queries require a thorough understanding of issues and a thorough response, not just a flimsy answer. A minister or special adviser on finance would have advised him properly on this. He surely knows how to give opposition ammunition to call him D-u-l-l-a-r-d-i-n-h-o. {Note: And please, moderator don't change the president's nickname I used in my post (starting with D-U-L......., ending in ...inho) to President Buhari, since it was ok calling the previous one CLUELESS}.

What I don't.understand is why Nigerians groan under hardships and complain of the rot in the system, yet they treat very attempt to.clean the system with derision. Then on Sundays, they rush to churches to disturb God with their problems.

Even the unemployed ones wasting at home will be quick to log online to make mockery of any good positive development just because it is not affecting them individually. What a bunch of selfish buffoons!

Good move by the president but the directive should be directed more at the civil/public servants. Only the National assembly has the power to direct the Auditor General on how to go about doing his job. The president doesn't have such powers.

By and large, it is good the president is taking the issue of unanswered audit queries seriously. He should take it a step further by signing into law the federal audit bill recently passed by the national assembly. That bill will seriously enhance the duties of the auditor general.

Hmmm u re a liar infact more than a serial liar jonathan owe salary into the next month infact during his tenure especially late 2014 he started paying workers alphabetical order in accordance with surname where by those with 'O' surname receive mid d following month nd 'A' surname af almost if not spend all there money by then oniro osi liar liar aha hahahahaha

PMB should do his work and stop referring to previous administration in every statement he make. Things like, ''AS IT WAS IN PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION'' ''DAYS OF IMPUNITY HAS PAST'' ETC. why not just be focus and let the masses do the compare and contrast, Or is he doing eye service job?
