The first class degree? The notion that Nigeria would be better?

Thanks sha...I wasn't planning to kill myself anytime soon smiley

In other words, don't be discouraged. Never stop having great expectations. A first class degree is a big deal to me.

Thanks Boss!
I'm already in the process of doing most of the things you pointed out; trying to develop myself as much as I can.
Thanks for the advice and good wishes.

I wish you all the best too

We are gonna conquer. It is just a matter of time.

Such courage! Most first class graduates won't dare speak out. Like someone else already mentioned, you need to jobhunt like every other person, or even harder grin

However, it wouldn't hurt to look inwards, see what you may not be doing right.....your destiny is in your hands!
God bless your efforts!

My brother, permit me to say "When things go bad for you, often you find out that you have yourself to blame", what were you doing during your final year in the University and service period? Anyways, since the deed is cast, the best advice i can give you is this: visit www.jarushub.com, even try to mail them about your predicament i'm pretty sure they'd enlighten you on the next step to take. Thank me later!

Adios Amigo!

Most first class graduates end up working for a third class graduate.

The irony of life.

Sorry o, who knows what Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga, PMB, OBJ,IBB etc graduated with?

Abeg, carry your pessimistic thinking stay one side jare. After all, while in school we were all given equal opportunities to prove ourselves, it ain't my fault i was better than you. We both started the race but along the way due to your carefree, negligent, unserious attitude you fell on the way like a chaff taken up by the wind. I proved to the world i can be dedicated to my goal and be successful in any project given to me.

Mr failure advocate, please tell your younger ones at home to graduate with a third class and you'll cheerfully embrace them into your loving arms.

But come to think of it, is it his fault he came out with a first class? He chose to be the best ( I don't know if its at the risk of his communication, social written skills) ; Please change your mindset towards education.

Hey Mr man, I never told you am a 3rd class product so stop jumping into conclusions.
If we check very well I might have made a better grade than you, but I've chosen another path of being an employer instead of an employee.
And yes, I have two graduates on my payroll after 7years of graduation.

What I meant is that he can dedicate and channel that intelligence into other creative things than wait for white collar jobs.

Most first class students rely on their certificate ...while in sch people praise them and at times get into their heads hence they believe all they need is just the first class cert. While other students with lower grades knows nobody will be seeking them so they go out to seek what they want..
Our society needs more than just a certificate one has to be extra smart to get a dream job or make it ... there is differece btw being smart and being brilliant

You're right...but I still think the expectations on First class graduates are too much. What's the difference between a CGPA of 4.48 and 4.51? Very little, yet, on a 5point scale, one is first class and the other is second class upper.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with my Social or communication skills. If I was jobless, it was because I was choosy at first.

I don't see anything wrong in a first class graduate working for a 3rd class graduate...or even an illiterate person for that matter. If the conditions are right...Go for it

Thank you, even though I don't agree that it's so much of a big deal. After all, there's very little difference between a 4.48 and a 4.51

Aiit bro, i guess i over-exaggerated, my apologies. Guess you know people tend to make a mountain out of an anthill, next time they'll create a thread title "Reasons not to graduate with a first class"(sic).Lol.

God bless our hustle and reduce our stress.

This is literally the funniest thing I've heard this month grin

It's alright. I just feel that the pressure on First Class graduates Is too much, compared to other people, which shouldn't be. First class graduates aren't necessarily smarter than other people

I perfectly understand your pains. I finished with an upper in one of the good sounding courses but after nysc I had problems securing a good place. I could blast any aptitude test without much preparation;i scaled many interview stages but yet no job. The pressure was real. Too many sleepless nights yet you hear stories of former class mates with 2.2 and even third doing well and getting good places.
Like some guys have said, people who finished with good grades tend to rely on it. I realized that too during my job search. Are u thinking of going for masters? It works magic for some. Worst case scenario, you develop a career along lecturing.
Good luck
