vickylala239:Bros listen, I am not into ATR, but having studied Archaeology/Cultural Anthropology/Religious studies, I have come to realise that MAN created GOD and not the other way round. this is because, our ancestors believed in OLODUMARE, and also AWON ORISHA. When the west brought their culture ,they introduced the concept of GOD. see ehn, the matter pass your comprehension. 1 Like 1 Share |

9jacrip: Wait! So Olufon resides in Ife? How then do we explain the connection btw the Olufon in Ife and the Olufon of Ifon-Orolu? Yes both are descended from obatala but who fathered who between the two |
Re: A Thread Dedicated To Orisa Nla (obatala). by Nobody: 9:52pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
macof: Yes, there is Olufon in Ife. He holds the post of the Ifon in his compound in Ife and also the post of Ifon at Olorisa compound as Obatala's firstborn. Also the King in both Ifon towns represent Ifon has their kings. |

naijababe: macof: What is esoteric about the tradition is the spiritual aspect of it, history is never shrouded in secrecy if you ask. Nigerian historians have become lazy and redundant, westernization has made the younger generation lose interest in their history and the circle goes on. A friend of mine was going to write a dissertation on Ifa in UI History department but was shot down. Infact that supervisor started hustling him with some christianity bullsh. 3 Likes |

sukkot:Even the culture and traditions of yah are archaic (and certainly useless to Africa. ..we've seen that for many centuries already) Yet Israel and Jewish communities outside israel (ie. In Ethiopia) guides their archaic traditions jealousy Africans should do likewise in regards to African culture and traditions, we should encourage our knowledge regardless how archaic it is. ..it cannot be more useless than the archaic traditions of others that we currently operate on Look at Nigeria for instance, importing everything and discouraging anything produced and distributed locally. ..making other nations richer at its own expense 6 Likes 2 Shares |

9jacrip: What about the theorical study of the spiritual aspects. .nd not the deep things themselves If Isese people come together to teach the traditions in an organized institution everyone will gain A good example is the Ifa heritage institution in Oyo, something big and of more seriousness should be done And it's true. ..people parading as historians have displayed so much laziness. .. To be honest Isese adherents are too silent, we have not really come together to organize the system...that's why there's so much negligence by the government 1 Like |
Re: A Thread Dedicated To Orisa Nla (obatala). by Nobody: 11:03pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
macof: Of what use will be theory be if the depth of it is not taught? The Ifa Heritage institution pretty much fills this gap but a lot is taught to adherents or descents who take interest. Really, these things (history and use of herbs) are not much in secret as many people think. My cousins and extended relatives of mine who are not even up to 13 years of age can make Ifa for poison, money for the day even if the low scale, it is something. When you are in the right circle, you will have your hands on these things. What is missing is written records which will then put everyone at risk. 2 Likes |

macof: I agree with the emboldened but let me add that we have a union and we are fighting tooth and nail to grasp some form of relevance but the foreign religion adherents in power are shooting every effort down. Thankfully, the governor of Osun state is not so uptight with his Islam belief, else we would not have the Isese day and government presence during festivals. |

macof:I'm sure me shouting here can't help u... U need to sit down on ur own nd think deeply (dats wat i did) but I'll try to address ur ignorance (no insult intended) Firstly, we Muslim don't worship any black stone. It's just for us to perform saalah in unity i.e every Muslim in d world will face 1 direction (there's a saying of d prophet for dat but i don't need to quote it cos u won't believe Secondly, u said no African govt run on isess or whatever you call it. Yes it may be true but take d oro festival for instance, d worshippers will tell you u must not go out @ night during d festival or else you'll be used as sacrifice thereby putting us all in hostages yet d govt is Silent about it or is it written in d constitution dat during oro festival there will be curfew. Lastly who will want to sell out a barbaric act. Name one good tin dat the African tradition has done for the universe. Is it not d same African tradition dat kill twins b4 d white came to educate us? Or not d same African tradition dat condemns children wit chicken pox. I tell you dis traditional tin is our major setback in Nigeria, eliminate it nd you'll see Nigeria in d same class wit d lyks of America, France nd so on 1 Like |

vickylala239: Ok. Thanks for the advise but it is not needed cus we don't worship wood or stone...we make use of such for no less reason than the Muslims use the Kabba stone or Christians use the crucifix Africans worshipping objects is a lie the Europeans came telling... a pity they found gullible morons that fell to their gimmicks and lies 2 Likes
