I had it real bad myself before my first child was born. My two daughters also have terrible pain. Nothing really helps. They just stay in bed and cry. The older one even had blackouts the first few years.

But you can`t use one calamity to solve another. Let her endure till the time is right.

Please let her endure. As I wrote my daughter was fainting and having black outs it was so scary. She had terrible pains and I had to even help her to get up but it got better with time.

Please don`t think about having a child now.
You would only be transfering her pain to the child. It is very difficult to raise a child when you are young. You make so many mistakes because you just are not settled or experienced enough. The child is the victim of it all.
Please just let her wait so that she can have the joy of getting married and then having a child.

My younger sister ,had the same problem .Her own was terrible,she vomits and fainted one day cos of the terrible pain.t was only child birth that stopped her pain also.Yes it normally runs in the family.But let her endure and get married .Because at your age,you are too small to counter for a baby.

Pregnancy will not help, she's just responding to her pain.

I advise that you should stop having sex with her too in case she tricks you Lol.

She needs to relax and keep her mind at rest when her period approaches.
For the nausea let her chew ginger.
She needs to take warm water lots of it during the period.
Then she should use a hot water bottle and place it on her abdomen. Heat helps.

Lastly use medication
Mephanamic acid or ibrofen or Nurofen. But these can affect you stomach after long term use causing ulcers.
So Panadol and some of the above tips help.

I'm no doctor but I know Diclofenac injections help really bad cases but she should speak to a gynae and see if she qualifies for it and not just go and try any heavy painkillers. She should talk to a few doctors (a consultant gybnaecologist would be best) and see her options.

A former colleague of mine made d worst mistake of her life cos of dis pain. She rushed into marriage becos her aunty she was living told her it will stop when she starts giving birth. @OP; why the rush? You are 20 and she is 18; both of you are still quite young and I'm not sure why you think you can look after an infant at this young age.

Let me tell you that it’s not in all cases where a woman who suffers from menstrual pain when she has a baby it goes away. In some cases, IT DOES NOT GO AWAY AND IT EVEN GETS WORST. I know a woman who has 4 children and her menstrual pain have not stopped as she is still in severe pain which got worse. I know of another one who has 2 kids and the menstrual pain is still unbearable.

Hence, I’ll say don’t think that having a child would remove the pain in your GF’s case as every woman’s body differs. For some, the pain might go away after they have their 1st child or subsequent children; but for other women, it might not go away even after their first child.

Note that, the pains some women go through during their menstrual circle; you just got to feel pity and sorry for them. Main while, there are some women when on their menstrual circle, they might not even feel a single pain. This just shows the variation of the human body.

Lastly, advice her to see a gynecologist for thorough examination. There are medications she could take to ease the pain but I'll be weary of her taking any medication without seeing a gynecologist first. So advice her to see one fast.


I rest my case

To manage the pain she should go and read well well about it on the internet, I think she would get more idea how to live good life.

I had a friend/room mate like that too during NYSC she doesn't go to to PPA when she's on her period, it was that bad.
She just lies down in pain, the normal painkillers didn't do much. Later a doctor prescribed another for her which she takes days before the period, even at that she felt slight relief .

Her's is also hereditary and she had super heavy flow, that was when I first saw blood "pouring" from some one. After the period she's always very pale and white after losing so much blood. All my life I have never seen someone passing through so much pain because of menses.

She had seen doctors and they didnt see anything wrong with her medically. Her mum also passed through the same according to her and when she married and gave birth it stopped.

She prepares for the period itself, in fact it takes about 10 days before she gets back to normal 3 days before she will start taking painkillers and then after the period she will begin to take multivitamins/iron capsules.

She wedded recently at 26 and she was a virgin if she could bear it I believe your girl can. Your girl will scale through, you and her family just needs to be supportive.

The pain can be horrible though, just remembering my friend/roommate sends shivers down my spine.

The Healthy Vagina
The vagina serves as a passageway between the
outside of the body and the inner reproductive
organs. The pH balance of the vagina is acidic,
which discourages infections from occurring. This
acidic environment is created by normally-
occurring bacteria. A healthy vagina produces
secretions to cleanse and regulate itself, similar to
how saliva cleanses and regulates the
environment of the mouth. These vaginal
secretions are normal vaginal discharge. Any
interference with the delicate balance of vaginal
secretions sets up an environment conducive to
infection.
Normal Vaginal Discharge
All women have some vaginal discharge. Normal
discharge may appear clear, cloudy white, and/or
yellowish when dry on clothing. It may also
contain white flecks and at times may be thin and
stringy. Changes in normal discharge can occur
for many reasons, including menstrual cycle,
emotional stressors, nutritional status, pregnancy,
usage of medications – including birth control
pills, and sexual arousal.
Effects of the Menstrual Cycle
The menstrual cycle affects the vaginal
environment. You may notice increased wetness
and clear discharge around mid-cycle. The pH
balance of the vagina fluctuates during the cycle
and is the least acidic on the days just prior to

Trichomoniasis – This infection is caused by a one-
celled protozoan organism. Trichomoniasis is
almost always spread through sexual contact.
However, the protozoan organism can survive for
up to twenty-four hours in a moist environment,
making wet towels or bathing suits possible
instruments of transmission from someone with
the infection.
Signs and Symptoms
Most men and some women don’t display any
symptoms, which may include:
Yellow/green, frothy, discharge
Foul odor with discharge
Increased amount of discharge
Inflammation of vulva/vagina
Increased frequency of urination
Itching
Monilia (Yeast) Infection – There is normally a
small amount of yeast (Candida albicans) present
in the vagina. A yeast infection occurs when there
is an overabundance of yeast, often caused by a
change in the pH balance of the vagina. Yeast
infections are not usually sexually transmitted.
Some factors that may increase susceptibility to
yeast infections
Increased stress
Use of oral contraceptives
Diabetes
Pregnancy
Use of antibiotics (protective bacteria are

How Can Vaginal Infections AffectFertility?
If you only get a yeast infection once or twice a

affect your fertility is by making you so
uncomfortable from itching and slight burning
you will not want to have sexual intercourse.
Remember that yeast infection can be passed on
to your partner; so it is best to avoid sexual
contact while you have a yeast infection or any
type of vaginal infection.
Recurrent vaginal yeast infections cause the
internal vaginal flora to become unbalanced
which may make it harder for the sperm to reach
the uterus. Sperm is not killed by overgrowth of
Candida, but because the infection changes the
consistency of the cervical mucous, it may make
it more difficult for the sperm to reach the
cervical opening.
If you have a vaginal yeast infection, it is highly
likely you have an intestinal imbalance of Candida
as well. This is often caused by poor diet. Because
the digestive system is connected to areas of
women’s bodies right near the opening of the
vagina, the candida overgrowth may be spread
through those areas of the body as well and vise
versa through wiping after using the toilet. This
means that what you eat contributes to yeast
overgrowth as well, especially in the intestines. If
you have yeast overgrowth in your intestines, this
