I recently used the Mercon LV to do a transmission service and it was easy job now that the filter is not serviceable, just drain and refill

Hi, I drive a ford Windstar 2000 model.
I have issues with the power steering pump. The longer I drive, the harder it becomes to steer the vehicle. I have checked for leakage but none is in the system. I want to drain the fluid and refill but my much recommend I change the pump.
What do you advise?
And also, I discovered recently that the alternator no longer charges well. Occasionally CEL with battery light comes on n the dash but when I rev the car, the light goes off and remained off till I park the engine for days without usage.
What's you take on that too?
