ayokellany: You're not a baby!!! Stop allowing yourself to be spoonfed propaganda while you remain docile!!!! Use your head man!! Use your head!! Saraki got a vote of confidence from 87 out of 105 senators....bubu and nubu would be the ones begging or lobbying him or they would get nothing from his senate not the other way round......why do you think bubu has failed to send any nominations to them It is because it won't pass as things stand right now so he is trying to use the elections petitions tribunal to unseat as many of them and he will still fail woefully at that because there would be appeal upon appeal lasting more than a year and the government can not stay in limbo for that long so bubu will still have to lobby the opposition NASS members he is antagonizing and they will cut him down to size!!!! Nubu's relevance is only on newspaper pages!! |

OPCNAIRALAND: you sure got the point neither is Nigeria a yorubaland... thats what i was getting at Nigeria is made up up many lands and culture, so we shouldnt always assume that the rest of Nigeria must act the way we do in our tribal enclaves |

OPCNAIRALAND: Your point of view is skewed. The APC is a national party with more than twice as many states in the north than in the south west. If Tinubu is able to dominate the south West, the nation can increasingly see that he has trouble dealing with independent minded people. Saraki is not a major issue for the apc right now and the trouble gbaja has was in part because of his perceived closeness to him. Is there any political philosophy you can say he believes in, what will he leave behind? Certainly nothing close to Awolowo. He has shown his ambitions early and there will be resistance. Where is Mamora now, a widely admired politician tossed aside because? Over the next four years we will all observe the curtailing of his ambitions on the national scene. Mark my words. |

chukwudi44: Bros, You said the difference is about a decade. If someone is older than you by just months in SW (even at the advent of civilization), it is expected that you should respect the person and call him/her '' brother/sister. 10 years is lot oh. 2 Likes |

T ZACHIE: chukwudi44:Brother,to call address someone who's older than you by at least 5 years,(some people 2 years )is the biggest insult in Yorubaland. And you must talk to anyone who's older than you by addressing them as "E" which is plural form instead of "O" which is the singular. You must address someone older by "Eyin" meaning plural form of you instead of "Iwo" which is singular form of you. He should have addressed him as Asiwaju. He'd even feel really humiliated if someone younger addresses him as "Iwo" instead of Eyin",how would he feel if a 30 something year old guy comes over and calls him Bukola? He'd feel like the earth should just open up and swallow him. My Elder brother is just a year older than I am and I can never call him by his first name or address him by "o" or "iwo". Its very important in yorubaland,we don't take it lightly If someone that's obviously younger addresses anyone by Iwo(Singular) or call you by your first name or greets you that way,you don't answer and some would call him back and insult that younger fellow for being disrespectful or even beat the hell out of the younger fellow. Don't get me wrong, that still exists very much in yorubaland even though this is 21st century. If It's someone you don't want to respect, maybe someone you don't like, you either address the person by speaking English or pidgin, and yet,you don't call the person by name, you may call the person Chairman. But the English you're speaking won't make the plural way of addressing the elders reflect 1 Like |
