I ride okada in neighborhoods but the first thing I tell the driver is that I'm a cyclist too and the minute he starts any nonsense riding that I'm going to choke the shyte out of him from the back.

I either get (1) oya oga get down or (2) no worry sir, I be safe guy

(I do not understand why Nigerian passengers allow themselves to be driven/riden about just any how).

Whenever I see an okada man or a car overtaking a trailer I do feel bad especially for the passenger cuz he/she got every right to tell d person driving/riding to drop him immediately. One thing am fond of saying when boarding a taxi or bike is "Oga abeg I carry belle o drive me small small o" and believe me they'd do just that.

A motorcycle rider also known as Okada and a student were crushed to death this morning by a trailer along University of Agriculture road, North Bank, Makurdi.

According to eyewitnesses, as the motorcycle tried to overtake the trailer, the latter lost control and crushed the okada man and a female passenger, later found to be an accounting student of the College of Advance and Professional Studies (CAPS) Makurdi.

Both died on the spot with their brains scattered on the roadside as people gathered.

The Okada was overtaking a Trailer and it's the trailer that is said to lose control..

Please Nairalanders, it is your duty to protect your life. Speed kills. If your Bus driver, Keke rider or Okada rider is speeding and driving recklessly, tell him sternly to slow down or you can simply stop the ride and come down.
