any illegal structure must go down, some people are so short sighted, mixing religion with development, y cant the religious centres obtain a detailed survey of the site or c of o like it's called in naija before building their structures, if Nigeria wants to be a truelly develpoped nation by 2020, illegal structures must go down, and the evil centres that causes traffic congestion along lagos ibadan expressway must be shut as well,

Plesky you obviously don't understand how things work around here. People will pay bribe to obtain approval for a foundation that may destroy them in the future.

When people (ignorantly or otherwise) choose to break the law at their own peril why should govt bother itself until it is ready to act.

If the people affected do not have valid documents they can only appeal to the govt for consideration. It's a pity. You cannot expect compensation if you don't have valid documents.
