Our beloved OP, I appreciate your great job. I have yet another question to ask: Will item like clipper be allowed into the camp? I have been using my personal clipper for the past 9 yrs; I will rather leave my hair for 21 days than take the risk of using general clipper. Thanks

Like I said earlier...I wasn't asked for my ID but it could be different for you. Please verify with NYSC website on whether ID is important for home students. Thanks

cool

No sweaters...white or otherwise. You khaki jacket is there for a reason. Wear it!!!

It can be a small backpack or sling over . doesn't have to be a waist pouch. As for colour, it can be any colour however I'm not sure about the army/camoflague colour because I have heard Nigerian soldiers have a big problem with non-army personnel wearing it. But...you could argue though that nysc is a para military arm of society (and corpers may be called upon to take up arms in the event of war...bet you didn't know that...hmmm) hence it may be allowed (after all, your khaki is green)... Anyways...try your luck and let us know how it goes!!! I would genuinely want to know cheesy

Oh yeah!...d jacket!....dt escaped me for lyk a minute... it should do too

and for d backpack.....lol, a brutha wont be doin wrong in trying, would he?
Hopefully dey let me live to tell d story cool

Always default to teaching...

2. You don't reject posting...the place you are posted to rejects you. I hope that makes sense. So you may ask them to reject you and see if they oblige. If they do, you can do to nysc secretariat with your letter of request from new company and letter of rejection from old company and see if nysc will post you to the new company. Can be a lot of hassle. Some people just come to some sort of arrangement with the old company and still work at the new place. disclaimer: always do what is legal by nysc standards. Don't come and say "DC told you so" grin

Thumbs up OP, I was just reading through when I spotted this.

Rejection has a lot to do with color codes, not just what is written down, I learnt this during one of the meetings we set up for the NYSC staff and corps absorbing institutions.

If a person is compelled by a corps member to fill for rejection, he uses a red pen, he could write sweet words, but between him and the NYSC staff, there is a hidden message in the red ink, the corps member gets thrown to a likely worse PPA, except you pull more strings.

So, once you see your principal pick up a red pen(with the excuse that he cannot find his blue pen), offer him your blue pen, or just find another way to make him write in blue or black.

It is a punishable offence to reject where you are posted to.

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to fill the online NYSC form but Lagos is not among the list of states I am able to choose. is there any reason for this? or is there anything I can do to make the option of Lagos appear?

A swift response would be appreciated.

I believe with the new system, the states fall off the list as they get filled up. So Lagos is probably no longer on the list because of lack of space. Its being done on first come first 'serve' basis. Good luck
