Can't remember exactly how many days but it has to do with how long it takes Venus to rotate around its axis which is the day compared to how long it takes to go round the sun which is the year.

This is not an error, it is correct.

It's simply an error. I guess they meant to say that 'a day on venus lasts longer than a year on earth'
Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by Nobody: 4:41pm On Oct 01, 2015
Your physics idea is good but ... You are OYO. Equations of motion can be stated in complicated terms but Newton and co decided to state them in simple statement. Would you help out with relativity?

mowah:
The venus is closer to the sun than the earth so it would experience more gravitational force than the earth even though it's mass is quite lesser than that of the earth , so the centripetal force of the venus would be more than that of the earth because of the square distance factor , leading to a higher revolutionary velocity which can be interpreted into a short year, but due to the relatively large radius of venus compared to that of the orbit , According to the popular equation wr=v, the angular velocity of venus would be very small relatively to the revolutionary velocity, infact smaller than the revolutionary velocity which leads to a longer day than year. grin

It takes 243 Earth days to rotate once on its axis. The planet’s orbit around the Sun takes 225 Earth days, compared to the Earth’s 365

What the picture means is that it takes Venus a much longer time to rotate round its axis. Than to orbit the sun.

this is ridculously simple to understand. you don't have to be a bloody genius to get the hang of it.

venus rotates very slowly . . . so slowly in fact, that it takes less time for it to travel around the sun than for it to complete on revolution.

if this phenomena were to occur on earth, an afternoon would last about . . . six months?

ok that just sounds super weird, 6 months for an afternoon but na night life go make sense past, enough parties but person gop tire for no sun oooo
Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by dozymars(m): 4:45pm On Oct 01, 2015
It takes lesser time for Venus to make a complete orbit round the Sun than it takes for it to rotates on its own axis.

[quote author=seyitanhep post=38542845]it takes venus 224.65 earth days to complete on orbit around the sun but it takes venus 243 earth days to rotate once.
Nice one.are u a geographer?
Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by Leward(m): 4:49pm On Oct 01, 2015
therefore, for a whole year In venus, it will be day time, you go work tire

That is to say that Venus is a jumbo-size planet.

mlanreh:
Venus takes 224.65 days to complete each orbit. This is a little less than a year on Earth. But instead of a similar rotational period to Earth’s 24 hours, Venus takes 243 days to rotate once.

In other words, a day on Venus is longer than a year. This is the longest day in the entire Solar System. Even stranger, Venus rotates backwards compared to the other planets in the Solar System.

If you could stand on the surface of Venus, the Sun would appear to rise in the West and then set in the East.
Then the write up there is wrong.
It should have been "A day on Venus is longer than a year on Earth"

INTROVERT:

Venus spins backwards compared to most of the other planets. It spins or rotates in the opposite direction that Earth rotates. This means that on Venus the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east. On Earth the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by Joeadamxx(m): 5:03pm On Oct 01, 2015
Sorry sir, but your brain tease is not entirely true.
A day on venus is about 116 earth days and a year is 265 earth day.
Because of its closeness to the sun (as well as mercury) the sun's gravitational pull slows down its spin about its axis, hence its day is longer. Its rotation around the sun however is not affected.

OK, i got it, but how many times in a day would somebody need to eat 3 square earth meal on Venus?

its because venus rotating on its axis takes longer time than venus rotating around the sun. and this is why it is called lucifer the morning star

What I can interprete here is that it takes longer for Venus to rotate on it's axis completely than for it revolve round the sun
Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by drey076(m): 5:04pm On Oct 01, 2015
A day in Venus is equivalent to a year on earth

Venus actually rotates on is axis at a far slower speed than its speed of orbit around the sun. This fact is also due to its closer distance to the sun relative to earth, hence it has a shorter circumference to travel.

Itz simple nah, it means revolution round the sun is faster than it's rotation on it's axis.
Re: Only A Genius Can Interpret This (photo) by pleiades45: 5:11pm On Oct 01, 2015
another amazing fact about venus is that in earths 8 years it revolves around the sun 13 times and goes past earth 5 times in the shape of a pentagram if viewed from earth and because of this many luciferians worship venus. in fact washington dc was mapped out by freemasons according to this pentagram movement of venus. if you look at the map of washington dc a huge pentagram is carved into the streets.
