Nice one op. Beautiful beads and traditional outfits kiss

A quick correction -Edo or Benin is the name of the place. Bini is a language just like Esan, afemai and the rest.......

@Deejavuu,

This is actually incorrect. Many Edo people will claim what you have said because they are unaware. But they are wrong.
Perhaps 80% would be unaware.

The Oba of Benin & others have long said BENIN is the correct version for both place & language.

People still erroneously cling to Bini (from Ile-Ubini) as the language. But wrong.

In fact, it was Oba Ewuare who decided to change from Ile-Ubini to Edo. I guess that apart from honouring his servant called Edo, who had saved his life as a prince but lost his (servant's) in the process, it was also very deliberate. To expunge the name given by foreigner(s). He was a strident politician, reformer and empire builder.

Edo representing loyalty, principle, courage, strength and matyrdom was more appealing than Ile-Ubini (Land of Fury/Vexation).

We Benin people never called ourselves Bini/Beny/Benin/ in the first place. It was initially Yoruba & coastal Itsekiri/Portuguese/British.

Although post 1440 AD, Benin/Edo was also commonly called Ado in Yorubaland.

We called ourselves Igodo/Igodomigodo before that.

Hope you see the logic of Benin being preferred in all cases just like Edo represnts both language & place.

The Igbo population should be greater than 32 million. The 35 million figure for Hausas in Nigeria seems somewhat exaggerated. There has never been a proper or true census done in Nigeria that truly reflects the actual population of ethnic groups in the country.
but Igbo population is not exaggerated
