Nice one from the honourable SP!! Every petition must be submitted and investigated!! We cannot afford to have rogues as ministers!!

Saraki is a rogue. What comes out when a rogue screen a rogue?

Amaechi is a rogue and must be jailed. That man couldn't complete the River Monorail yet expect to be taken serious as a minister. Nobody should ever dream of allowing such person to take position of power again in that society.

A strong protest from members of the All Progressive Congress in the Senate on Wednesday did not stop their colleague from Rivers State from submitting a petition against the nomination of Mr. Rotimi Amaechi as minister.

No sooner than the senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District, George Sekibo, raised a point of order to submit the petition that the APC senators kicked by shouting, “no, no, noooooo.”

Despite the APC protest, Senate President Bukola Saraki asked protesting senators to keep quite and then asked Sekibo to submit the petition which he said was from one of his constituents.

with this ministerial lust Buhari is testing the waters. He has sent a list of largely loyal party men and backers thereby satisfying the party and at the same time putting to test the commitment of the senate towards the fight against corruption, a test the senate will pass by not clearing all the nominees, those not cleared will be replaced by technocrats from their states.
At the end of the day the cabinet will be a credible one.

Dear Nairalanders,
I am in need of your urgent contributions in solving the below questions. I have an exam on Saturday, and part of the past questions that i found difficult to solve are listed below for your help. Showing the method of solving it will be appreciated.

Below are the questions:

1. Steve travelled the first 2hours of his journey at 40km/h and the remaining 3hours of his journey at 80 km/h. What is his average speed for the entire journey?

2. A can complete a project in 20days and B can complete the same project in 30days.If A and B start working on the project together and A quits 10days before the project is completed, in how many days will the project be completed?

3. Working together, Jose and Jane can complete an assigned task in 20days. However, if Jose worked alone and complete half the work and then Jane takes over the task and completes the second half of the task, the task will be completed in 45days. How long will Jose take to complete the task if he worked alone? Assume that Jane is more efficient than Jose.

4. Fatimah invested a certain sum of money in a simple interest bond whose value grew to #300 at the end of 3years and to #400 at the end of another 5years. What was the rate of interest in which she invested her sum?

Most citizens are very conscientious about observing a law when they can see the reason behind it. For Instance, there has been very little need to actively enforce the recently – implemented law that increased the penalty for motorists caught leaving a gas station without paying for gas they had pumped into their vehicles. This is because the citizens are very concerned about the high cost of gasoline and they know that stealing gas will only further increase the price of gasoline for everyone.

5. With which of the following statements would the author of this passage be mostly likely disagree?
a. The increased penalty alone is a significant motivation for most citizens to obey the law.
b. There are still too many inconsiderate citizens in the local community.
c. High gasoline prices can be brought down if everyone does his or her part and pays for the gasoline they use at the pumps.
d. Society should make an effort to teach citizens the reasons for its laws.

6. You had one match and entered a dark room where there were an oil lamp, oil heater and a candle, which would you light first?

Question 7 to 10 are based on the following passage;
The office staff of XYZ Corporation consists of three bookkeepers –A, B, C and five secretaries D, F, G and H. The management is planning to open in another city using two bookkeepers and three secretaries of the present staff. To do so the management plans to separate certain individuals who don’t function well together. The following guidelines were established to set up the new office.
a. Bookkeepers’ A and C are constantly finding fault with one another and should not be sent together to the new office.
b. C and E function well alone but not as a team, they should be separated.
c. D and G have not been on speaking terms and should not go together
d. Since D and F have been compelling for promotion they should not be a team.
7. If A is to be moved as one of the bookkeepers, which of the following cannot be possible working team?
8. If C and F are moved to the new office, how many combinations are possible?
9. If C is sent to the new office, which member of staff cannot go to the new office?
10. If D goes to the new office, which of the following is/are true?
a. C cannot go b. A cannot go C.H must also go

Question 11 to 13 are based on the following information;
There are six steps that lead from the first to the second floor. No two people can be on the same step. Mr. A is two steps below Mr. C, Mr. B is a step next to Mr. D. Only one step is vacant (no one is standing on this step). Denote the first step by step 1, second 2 and so on.
11. If Mr. A is on the first step, which of the following is true?

a. Mr. B is on the second step b. Mr. C is on the fourth step c. A person Mr. E could be on the third step d. Mr. D is on higher step than Mr. C

12. If Mr. E was on the third step and Mr. B was on a higher step than Mr. E, which step must be vacant?

13. If there were two steps between the step that A was standing and the step that B was standing on and A was higher step than D, A must be on step?
a. 2 b. 3 c. 4 d. 5

14. Jane covered a distance of 340 km between city A and city taking a total of 5hours. If part of the distance was covered at 60 km/hour speed; how many hours did she travel at 60 km/hour?

15. Steve travelled the first 2hours of his journey at 40 km/h and the remaining 3hours of his journey at 80 km/h. What is his average speed for the entire journey?

16. A train travelling at 72 km/h crosses a platform in 30 seconds and a man standing on the platform in 18seconds. What is the length of the platform in meters?

17. If the cost price of 20 articles is equal to the selling price of 25 articles, what is the % profit or loss made by the merchant?

18. If the mean of numbers 28, x, 42, 78 and 104 is 62, then what is the mean of 128,255, 511, 1023 and x?

19. Alimat can complete a project in 20days and Bintu can complete the same project in 30 days. If Alimat and Bintu start working on the project together and Alimat quits 10days before the project is completed, in how many days will the project be completed?

Thanks you as i await your favourable contributions.
