I don't know much about 407. But my experience Mercedes Benz has thought me that one should not right off a vehicle brand because certain version gives problem. I once promise myself never to use Benz coz of fuel consumption and pricy parts until I was convinced to buy C-Class Benz. I never regretted buying that C-Class.
