I stated in my write up that I never appear at the US embassy for anything except that the agent sent my photographs to Kentucky. I dint pay any visa fee to the U.S. embassy in Nigeria. The embassy only scheduled us for interview which i chose not to attend Pls go through my story again.

Bros left to me I will reapply and go from there... I won't even make mention of the previous issue...Go ahead and try your luck.. I believe your info is not yet with the embassy.

Just wondering the documents you submitted previously and when that was. For what? What visa category? Go with your International Passport, GTB receipt, DS160 confirmation page, and the Dropbox confirmation/go-ahead page. I think that's all!

Please I will be interviewed along with my newly wedded wife for visiting visa in a couple of weeks time. We both have good paying jobs and intend traveling cos we've been too busy ever since we married and couldn't travel anywhere for honeymoon.... we also see this as an opportunity to see some of our relatives of mine and hers in the USA who couldn't attend our wedding.
My request from the house is what are the documents that need to be taken in addition to the confirmation page of the visa schedule that will increase our chances of success. Please I need a check list of what we need to bring along as well as any useful advice on how to present our case during the interview.

I read somewhere that one needs a letter from ones place of work in Nigeria to show strong ties to the country.... is the letter suppose to be written and sent directly to the embassy or given for the applicant to bring along. Also concerning the visiting letter from my relative in the USA, I suppose that is to be written to me to bring along right? Please I need help!!!!

arm yourself with your pp, visa payment receipt and confirmation page.. Any documents other than the one I just mention wouldn't be necessary as the visa officer won't look at them

You don't need any letter from anybody or organisation for visit visa but if you want to go along with them fine...

Hello all..

I and my wife were refused B1/B2 visa early May this year because she was a bit nervous and had a panic attack while answering her questions..but I fared very okay.

The VO was continuously typing until when my wife started describing her organization and their sector rather than explaining her job function as it was on the form.

She then asked if we had kids and we said we were waiting on the Lord.
We have no kids yet and have been married since Dec 2015.

Instantly she stopped typing and handed us the green paper saying we were not qualified at this time but should try again some other time.


-We will be staying with my wife's uncle who is an IT specialist at the USDA Dept. Of Treasury
I also didn't include his organization name in the USA contact section of the former application but I have now.

We are reapplying again this June as we want to spend our annual leave in the US (we've never been there, but have visited Ghana for honeymoon)
And I want to make sure we crossed all our Ts and dotted our Is.

This brings me to my questions.

-under what category do I put my profession. I am a banker and in the former application I selected others and specified banking??

- I was asked why we were rejected before and I wrote because my wife was nervous. Is thus a good reason and can they confirm this as true??

- My wife is a sales manager at a Solid minerals processing and sales company. What category does her work fall under in the form?

-was the VO pissed with our answer when she asked if we had kids?

Kindly assist as I want to submit my application by tomorrow.

Are there some other tips to succeed this time around?
Our former interview time was 10am..could it be the VO was already cranky?

seriously though, your question is irrelevant. You fill the form, you book your interview date (depending on availability), print your confirmation page and attend your interview on the date you chose

Thanks for your advise, I will give it a try. If I get refused for misrepresentation this time, that should clear the hurdles of the past. And it will pave ways for future travels to the US. I dont think they would continue refusing me visa over something I want to be clear of

. Olamide don't be discourage .. some people"s comment are annoying as if they are d one givn out the visa .. fill the form wit honestly... there's nowhere in the form you will need to explain ur past cos you've never gone for the interview nor fill their form.. so don't lose hope nor be discourage.. everyone here are just saying what they think... they ain't God nor the consulate.. what they see as merit does get you the visa sometimes.. just try u might be lucky

It counts not much or even nothing. Concentrate more on yourself, your own ties and your interview, you may likely have the opportunity to spell this worry of yours out by then sef. Regards

I will only talk about the part you want to quote your wife as the reason for refusal,
I don't think that is right as in the 214b she wasn't stated as the reason. Also applying so soon..... . . But what do I know.

Very likely that @the bolded in itself is the big ish! Methinks she will need much more ties to Nigeria than loads of peeps on here to secure herself a visa.... What in your assessment will make her choose Nigeria over the US please? You I guess sha and maybe some more extras. I however hope she has not be trying to get this visa with her child(ren) added too sha?

4. Nigerians don't like to research = someone will still come and ask what documents they need to take to the interview apart from the Nigeria passport, GTB receipt, appointment confirmation page. *YOU DON'T NEED ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS APART FROM THESE THREE*

HER TIES TO NIGERIA IS WEAK. SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF A US CITIZEN, LIVING IN THE US, AND NOTHING STOPS THE DAD FROM APPLYING FOR US CITIZENSHIP FOR HER, ONCE SHE GETS TO THE US. THAT IS PROBABLY WHY SHE IS BEING REFUSED. TELL HER TO APPLY FOR AN IMMIGRATION VISA INSTEAD.

Its all about the VO view, some will issue u the visa while some wont . I have seen people in her shoes that has been issued B1/B2 visa. She should work on ties and re apply and At the same time let her dad apply for citizenship for her. But mind you once her dad start the process her chances for tourist 0visa will be slim. Just my own view.
